Imagine this: It’s Draft Night 2025. The stage is set, draft picks are receiving their moment in the spotlight, and franchises are making gut-wrenching decisions. Fans are on their screens in anticipation, but nobody is ready for what’s coming. A bombshell trade rocks the NFL universe, but it’s not regarding a rookie. It’s about one of the most exciting players in the sport, a man who can outpace nearly everybody on the field. A man by the name of Tyreek Hill.
Sounds crazy? Not if you speak to former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert. The former QB recently made some waves with a bold projection. In his estimation, Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill may be traded on Draft Night. And not only that—Benkert feels two teams need to be doing everything in their power to acquire him: the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens.
“I would not be shocked to see the Dolphins trade Tyreek Hill on draft night. My ideal landing spots for him are Dallas and Baltimore,” Benkert tweeted. “With Dallas, they get to add some firepower, which they will need to compete in their division this year. It would also take eyes off of CeeDee Lamb – allowing for both of their efficiencies to go through the roof. With Baltimore, he would be able to join an aging roster to help close the gap in their AFC title run – and would be the best receiver Lamar Jackson has ever played with”.

Why Dallas and Baltimore make perfect sense
If you’re raising an eyebrow at this point, let’s dissect this. First, the Dallas Cowboys. This team has been dancing around greatness for years but can’t quite close the deal. They have Dak Prescott, a good offense, and one of the top wide receivers in the league in CeeDee Lamb. But when it comes to the playoffs, something always appears to be lacking. Benkert thinks the missing piece might be Tyreek Hill.
The idea is plain and simple: Hill and Lamb together would be the most intimidating wide receiver duo in the NFL. When defenses attempt to shut down one of them, the other will rampage. It would give nightmares to opposing matchups and take Dak’s game to an entirely new level. And let’s not kid ourselves: Jerry Jones thrives on making splashy signings, and signing Hill to Dallas would dominate the headlines like few other signings would. More to the point, the Cowboys require an advantage in the NFC East, where the Eagles and 49ers are already loaded.
Now, speak of the Baltimore Ravens. This acquisition could be more logical than Dallas. The Ravens are a fairly complete team already, but their roster does not remain as young forever. If they ever hope to truly make a run at the Super Bowl, now is the time to stockpile. And what better to give them the necessary boost than one of the speediest, most explosive receivers out there?

Could Tyreek Hill be the missing piece for the Cowboys' Super Bowl dreams?

It would obviously be a game-changer for Lamar Jackson. The Ravens’ offense has always relied heavily on the ground game, and although they’ve had good receivers, Lamar has never had a true superstar wide receiver like Hill. Bringing in Hill would provide Jackson with an elite deep threat and give the offense some new dimensions. And with the AFC loaded with talent: Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, the Ravens need all the firepower they can muster to keep pace.

But could it really happen?
Before Cowboys and Ravens fans begin customizing their Tyreek Hill jerseys, let’s take a step back. As of today, there is no official word that the Dolphins are trading Hill. In fact, Hill has made it clear that he wants to remain in Miami. But, as we all know, the NFL is crazy, and there are some very real reasons why this rumor isn’t as wild as it sounds.

First, there are the Dolphins’ playoff woes. Even with Hill’s mind-boggling numbers, Miami was unable to make a deep postseason push. If the front office wants to change things and rebuild, sending Hill packing might be a good strategic choice. Next, there’s the salary cap picture. Hill’s deal is not inexpensive, and if Miami requires cap flexibility to build up other areas of the roster, trading him out might be the way to go. And then there’s the Draft Night drama element. We always get surprise last-minute trades each year that no one is expecting. Could Hill be among them this season?

Tyreek Hill is technically still a Miami Dolphin for now, but the rumor mill is officially in high gear. Whether it happens or doesn’t happen, it’s sure that the face of the NFL is changing. Teams are becoming more aggressive, front offices are making bigger deals and fans? We’re here just for the drama.
So, what do you believe? Should the Cowboys act? Would the Ravens be instant Super Bowl favorites? Or is it just another off-season fantasy? Either way, one thing is for certain—Draft Night is going to be pure must-see TV.
