In an entertaining twist to the usual sports headlines, Travis Kelce is under pressure—not from defenders on the field, but from the crew at the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast. He was going to be a part of the Beer Olympics, which is scheduled to take place on June 25. And they were counting on him being there. But unfortunately for them, he canned his plans. But the crew doesn’t plan to him off the hook that easily.

Moreover, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, also threw a jab at the BWB crew. Allegedly, they had gone to great lengths to try to accommodate Kelce, but to no avail. Portnoy hit back, saying that his company’s event, “The Dozen: Trivia Competition,” had to be moved to another location just because the BWB crew had booked their original venue. All this and yet no Kelce!

Former TE Delaine Walker laid out his demands with a mix of humor and serious hope. “We need some Taylor Swift tickets, man. Backstage Taylor Swift tickets. Introduce us to Taylor Swift on the bus,” Walker exclaimed. Echoing Walker’s sentiment, another member of the “Bussin with the Boys” crew suggested another potential peace offering from Kelce.

“Trav could get us a new intro song, he knows the number one pop singer,” he noted, hinting at the possibility of Swift contributing a new intro track for their podcast. Whether Kelce can deliver on these lofty requests remains to be seen.

At the last Beer Olympics, San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle and Indianapolis Colts DT DeForest Buckner emerged victorious. They’ve also committed to joining the fun once more this year.

But with Kelce canceling, and Barstool Sports Owner Dave Portnoy didn’t let go of this opportunity to poke fun at the Boys. The cancellation drew a pointed reaction from Dave Portnoy, who used the opportunity to highlight organizational chaos from a past event.

Portnoy reminisced on a previous occasion where his team scrambled to accommodate a similar last-minute change. He mentioned, “At least the entire company wasn’t running around with chickens with our heads cut off to accommodate them.” He added, “Poor @JeffDLowe had to move the Dozen to Siberia in the dead of winter to accommodate.”

Portnoy was referring to “The Dozen: Trivia Competition,” a trivia game show. He has been vocal about the logistical headaches caused by overlapping events, having previously criticized Compton on “Barstool Yak” for scheduling conflicts. “Will Compton booked the f*****g Beer Olympics on top of the Dozen,” Portnoy lamented back in February. Meanwhile, Compton, on the defensive, argued the difficulty in aligning the schedules of participating NFL players, “I can’t help that they are both scheduled at the same time, we’ve done it at the same time the last two years,” he explained.

In a tone of hopeful resilience, Compton said with a positive outlook: “But hey, onward and upward. We lost a good soldier. Two good soldiers,” he reflected, acknowledging the disappointing absence of Travis and Jason from the event. We’re hopeful that perhaps next year the event might see the two brothers participating.
