Will the Adams-Rodgers reunion be the game-changer the Jets desperately need this season?

The deal has been done. Curious about which one we are talking about? Davante Adams! WR is coming to the Jets. There were many teams in the race. But he chose his friend, Aaron Rodgers, to play with. He made it clear before signing with them that he wanted to play where he had friends. Who’s better than A-Rod? The QB had asked him earlier as well. But then, Adams had declined by claiming that he was happy at Raiders. It wasn’t the case.

Now, the fans are claiming the receiver planned his early exit and sped up the process to join the Jets. The biggest talking point is his hamstring injury. NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the WR is planning to make his debut for the Jets on Sunday in the week 7 game against the Steelers. After that, everyone was wondering if he was fully fit now.

Now, we got an interesting update from ex-NFL GM Andrew Brandt. He tweeted, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” That’s cryptic. However, no one can confirm this other than the receiver himself. Till now, there is no official update on his injury.

On the other hand, the Raiders have got good money from the Jets. They wouldn’t have to pay the remaining amount of his contract for the 2024 season. The Jets will cover that and pay him more than $35 million for the next 2 seasons. They have also given a conditional 3rd round draft pick that will upgrade to 2nd round if Adams does well.

Jeff Ulbrich is excited about Davante Adams

The Jets were so desperate to turn around their season that they fired Robert Saleh and hired Jeff Ulbrich as their head coach. Though it didn’t work out in the week 6 game against the Bills as they lost 23-20, the coach has seen what he has to work on. The first thing is the penalties as the Jets had 11 penalties in 110 yards. The second is to take control of the key situations as both teams were equal, with 20 points each at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Bills raced ahead with a field goal in the 4th quarter.

The coach is happy that Rodgers’ old friend Davante Adams is coming. Both played 8 seasons together at Packers and know each other well. Speaking about the trade, Ulbrich said, “I didn’t find out until not too long ago, but I am ecstatic, super excited. Not only an elite player, as we all know, but the relationship with him and Aaron just takes his value to a whole other space for us.” The coach is right there. But there is another reason behind his excitement.

The coach claimed that it would strengthen their WRT department by leaps and bounds. Not only Davante Adams will help them on the field, but Garrett Wilson and other young receivers also learn from the veteran. That’s a pretty solid observation. All in all, Gang Green is happy. Can they come back in the season? Hopes are high.
