The Dallas Cowboys losing against the San Francisco 49ers marks their second upset in a row. The 24-30 defeat might have the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fuming over everything he didn’t do this off-season. His “all in” approach didn’t account for having decent players that could replace those like Micah Parsons. Also, Mike McCarthy’s job is on the line now.
The loss against the Niners has the former Cowboy Dez Bryant freaking out and dishing unsolicited advice to Jerry Jones. He took to X and delivered a simple, yet brutal message to the Cowboys owner.
“Fire everybody Jerry… quit f—ing around,” Bryant wrote on X. The Dallas Cowboys are now 3-4 and with each game they lose, their dreams of going to the playoffs becomes a distant reality. Hence, it would not be far fetched to assume that there might be some hiring and firing going on in the Dallas Cowboys soon.

But who would the Cowboys owner fire if he had to do so? Clearly it can’t be the highest paid quarterback or one of the highest paid receiver in the league. Will Jerry Jones pull a Woody Johnson and fire Mike McCarthy in the middle of the season? The head coach signed a 5-year contract with the Cowboys in 2020 that reportedly pays him $4-$7 million a year.
Under McCarthy, the Cowboys have finished their last three seasons under a 12-5 note. However, bad offense and too many injured players on the roster might make it difficult for the Dallas team to reach to that point in this season. Dallas has to win 9 of their 10 remaining games to go 12-5, which is impossible.

But Mike McCarthy isn’t the only one in danger here. The Cowboys offensive coordinator, their DC, everyone might be in trouble. Especially when Dak Prescott had the opportunity to turn things around and win the game against the 49ers.
Did Dak Prescott blow the prime team game?
Prescott being the highest-paid QB in the league deserves scrutiny. He isn’t playing like the guy who is about to make $60 million a year. Yes, he threw two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions. The first one came in the first quarter whereas the second one happened with 11:30 remaining in the third quarter.
An apparent thing about both picks was the fact that Jones’ QB, Dak didn’t read the coverage well enough for a good ball placement. It was as if the Niners’ defense knew exactly what he was about to do. Dallas was struggling in the third quarter and was scoreless. Dallas were 27-10 by the end of the third quarter. However, Dak tried to turn things around in the last quarter.

We don’t know what happened to CeeDee Lamb in the last quarter, he seemed unstoppable. He had two touchdowns and was wide-open both times. With about 8 minutes remaining in the game, Prescott lobbed a 7-yard pass to a wide-open CeeDee Lamb and got the team sitting at 27-17. But 49ers’ Anders Carlson replied to Prescott’s TD with a 41-yard field goal.
But the Dallas QB couldn’t just watch what was going on and delivered a 20-yard dime to Lamb with 3:30 remaining in the game. Following that, throughout the 4 quarter, Prescott kept missing his passes, leading to a loss of a couple of crucial downs, amongst other things.

Something’s got to give for the Dallas Cowboys and this offense is just not cutting it. With three minutes left and 30-24 on the scoreboard, Prescott had a chance to make a comeback. His first down throw was nearly intercepted by Fred Warner and then three other incompletions snatched that comeback opportunity from him.
This left the Cowboys with 2:43 on the clock and no tricks up their sleeve. Now, Prescott will be going against Kirk Cousins and his Falcons and will try to erase the bitter taste from his mouth.
