The Dallas Cowboys have had a disastrous season, ranking 3rd in the NFC East with a 7-9 record. Sadly, they’re out of the playoffs, and only one game away from starting preparations for the 2025 season. But more than that, head coach Mike McCarthy’s career is doubtful. The speculations are on.

Senior ESPN writer and NFL reporter, Jeremy Fowler, came up with a great prediction for Super Bowl winner head coach. On Jan 2, he wrote on X, “Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy could set his sights on the #Bears Head Coaching job if he moves on from Dallas next season, per @JFowlerESPN”

As of now, every NFL fan is aware of the Chicago Bears situation. The onetime Super Bowl winner (1986) franchise is struggling to find a promising head coach of great caliber. On December 31, Albert Breer revealed on ‘The Breer Report’ that the Bears are desperately searching for a head coach, and Kevin Warren (Bears CEO) got a voice in it. This can set the future course for McCarthy.

As per reports, McCarthy’s Sunday game with the Cowboys could be his last. There is a possibility that he might get sidelined from the HC seat as Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones will be looking forward to changing the squad. The 61-year-old coach has spent 12 years with the Packers as their head coach before his term with Dallas. Mike shook hands with Jerry Jones in 2020, and the contract was about to end after the season. But amidst all this mud of wavering career future and comments, the HC has spoken clearly with the NFL reporters about the issue.

Mike McCarthy faced questions of all sorts on January 2. But what stung the most was regarding his future with the franchise. As revealed by senior NFL reporter Jon Machota, McCarthy has said, “I’ll be honest with you. I go to the stadium much earlier this time in my career than I used to. I won a Super Bowl in that home locker room at AT&T Stadium.” The HC recalled his connection with the AT&T Stadium as he won the Super Bowl game in the same stadium when Mike was a Green Bay Packers head coach.

On an emotional note, he continued, “So, I have a very strong emotional attachment [with the AT&T Stadium] that it hits me every time I walk in there and every time I walk out. So, yeah, I’m definitely aware of it. I’m not thinking about it right now, but, yeah, I’m definitely in tune with that.” Those are some strong words from a coach who drove them to playoffs twice in his tenure, 2021 and 2023.
