The Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescsott is finally free from the accusations made against him 7 years ago. A woman named Victoria ‘Bailey’ Shores accused Prescott of sexual assault and demanded $100 million to not take the QB’s case to the police. The woman made the accusations in Dallas County in 2017 and things have finally resolved in Prescott’s favor.

Dov Kleiman was one of the people breaking the news on X when he posted, “BREAKING: The sexual assault lawsuit against #Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has officially been dismissed.” Per Prescott’s lawyer, Levi McGathern, the accusation was a foul attempt to “extort” money from his client.

It was Judge Angela Tucker, who made the decision to dismiss the case. Before this happened, the accuser’s lawyer said that they planned to re-file the case in Collin County. However, after dismissal of the case, there was a hearing set to take place in September to potentially take legal action against Prescott’s accuser.

Earlier in April, Prescott addressed the media at the Texas Children’s Cancer Fund Gala saying, “I know the truth.  I’m confident in what we filed. Very confident in what we filed. I know some things have changed in their sense in where they filed, but that doesn’t have any weighing on what we’re doing and how we’re going about our lawsuit.”

Per the lawyer, Levi McGathern, it took the voice of those who actually have faced sexual trauma. According to his statement on WFAA, “The original lies by [the accuser], her team and their recent failed attempt to sue him civilly are all just a continuation of their extortion plot against Dak. These ploys distract from the trauma of legitimate sexual assault survivors and undermine the progress that our society has made in supporting them.”

But there is more to this unfortunate incident as many details came forth. One, in particular, focused on Dallas Police as they did not attempt to arrest the quarterback and Prescott’s lawyer’s strong stance with regard to the case.

The Dallas Police in May did not book Dak Prescott or file any charges against him because of lack of evidence. Levi McGathern mentioned that all the evidence against Prescott has been fabricated by the accuser’s lawyers. To make things worse, the woman who sued the Dallas QB wanted to dismiss the countersuit. However, McGathern was determined not to let that happen.

“The Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss is total nonsense,” McCathern said. “They have yet again misrepresented the relevant facts and misconstrued the law as it applies to them.”

The attorney further pointed out, “We are going to show, plain and simple, that this case is about the ridiculous attempt by Victoria ‘Bailey’ Shores and her lawyers, Yoel and Bethel Zehaie, to extort Dak Prescott out of $100 million based on fabricated allegations, which could not be further from the truth And, now that Dallas County has rightfully closed its investigation into the Defendants’ false allegations regarding Mr. Prescott, we intend on promptly filing claims against the Defendants for malicious prosecution.”

Now that the suit against Prescott has finally been put to rest, the quarterback will fully focus on the gridiron and the competitive spirit that is going to take over it once the season officially starts. The first match of the season for the Cowboys is against the Clevland Browns on Sunday, Sep. 8, at  FirstEnergy Stadium.
