When you ask Kelly Stafford what her husband’s obsession is when he’s on the gridiron? Oh, she’d take pride in telling you how her SB-winner beau, Matthew Stafford, is obsessed with winning. Her kids’ obsession with dinosaurs. But what about her? Well, she picked up the pieces, turned her passion into obsession, and started The Morning After Podcast from scratch.

Now, after four years of keeping it real on her podcast, she took to social media to celebrate the milestone. Because if we’ve learned anything from her, it’s that she’s not one to let a big moment pass quietly.

And how did she mark the occasion? With a heartfelt reel, of course. The grind. The hustle. And the journey until now, was playing in the background as the overlay text read: “She doesn’t know yet, but four years from now, the podcast she started by herself blows up.” The footage rolled on with memories, laughter, and the evolution of a project that began as just her voice and a mic.

Now? It’s a full-blown movement. Co-hosting alongside her bestie, Hank Winchester, Kelly has built a community that’s as raw and relatable as a sideline pep talk in the fourth quarter. The stats back it up, too. 197 episodes, a loyal listener base, and a 4.7k rating on Apple. So, if that doesn’t prove people aren’t just tuning in, they’re sticking around. Then, I don’t know what does!

Fans wasted no time flooding the comments with love. One wrote, “Been here since the crappy audio and guesthouse studio. I feel like a proud mama seeing how far the podcast has gotten!” And let’s be honest, there’s something special about watching someone go from underdog to powerhouse, even in the podcast world. Especially when you have been a part of it and grown with it. It feels like a personal dub.

Of course, the road hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Last August, she admitted that her husband had to throw a rare flag on one of her episodes. “That was the one time he was like, ‘Listen, talk about whatever you want, but don’t talk about anything that can affect my locker room,'” she revealed.

Turns out, a story she thought was harmless sent ripples through Matthew’s locker room. Lesson learned: There are real-life implications to something you say on record. That was the moment that was the real learning curve. And she respects Matthew a lot for coming to her and making it clear. Now, here she is, 4 years into the ride. Even she can’t say for how long she’ll continue this. But it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. And that’s the mantra that might have kept Matthew in LA.

Kelly was happy over Matthew Stafford’s contract extension

Is Matthew Stafford staying in LA? Oh, yeah, Kelly must have been the biggest fan of this news. The Rams locked down their QB1 for 2025 with a contract extension. So, all of the New York Giants and Sin City rumors? Yeah, basically, they went down the drain! Meanwhile, the details are not clear. For now, all we know is that it’s a hefty raise, no added years—just a cleaner deal to keep No. 9 where he belongs.

For Kelly, who had been refreshing the news like a fan tracking playoff scenarios, the relief was palpable. “Let’s go! [I’m so] excited. Thank goodness,” she exclaimed on the Give Them Lala podcast. “That was, obviously, what I wanted all along and what my husband wanted all along.” That’s right.

And who could blame her? For weeks, every morning brought a new headline—trade whispers, salary cap talk, anonymous sources throwing darts. “You wake up every morning, and there’s a new headline… I mean, every day it was something different,” Kelly shared. Now, all that noise is over, and she can finally breathe.

But this wasn’t just about football. It was about stability. “We have four girls, and I would say, if we didn’t have those four girls, maybe the stress would have been a little less,” Kelly admitted. The NFL is a business—players get traded, families pack up overnight, and kids are suddenly in new schools. For the Staffords, staying in LA meant avoiding that chaos.

Now that Matthew had signed the contract and the future was all set, Kelly was ready to celebrate. “You get that news, and, one, see how happy your husband is, and then I’m like, ‘Let’s go get some cocktails [and] let’s celebrate,’” she joked. The Rams get their quarterback, Stafford gets to keep slinging it in LA, and Kelly? She gets to keep watching him command the huddle—something she admits is still a major flex.

“It’s pretty awesome,” she said. “They show him in the huddle, and I’m like, ‘Whoa, this is a turn-on. Super hot.’” But the best part? Watching him come home and go from field general to girl dad. “He comes home after a game… and he is so tender and so sweet to them,” she said. And that’s the life of a player-cum-dad summed up… But when you have got an admirer? That’s always going to give you a kick.
