Russell Wilson surely had a dramatic landing. After all the hoopla with the Steelers, he finally found his next stop in New York City. The Giants signed him for a one-year term, and fans got excited. And you know, it was a special acquisition for Russ, too. And you know what? He received a surprise as soon as he landed.
Here’s the tea. Russell was at the New York Sports event, giving an interview, talking about his future, and other things. Suddenly, someone handed him a phone showing a video message from two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning. He was thrilled. The former Giants’ legend said in the message, “Hey Russell, just wanna congratulate you on coming to the New York Giants. You are coming to an unbelievable organization. [I’m] so excited that you are here. Can’t wait to see what you are gonna be able to accomplish here. All the best, pal.” And the newly added QB said that he loves it.

But one of the questions that needs answers is: Why is Russell so excited? Well, Wilson said, “It’s a place that wants to win and knows how to win and has won before. For me, it’s bringing everything I know, all the experiences and touchdowns, all the wins, and also all the love and passion for the game to the locker room,” recalling his Super Bowl days. When the news about his signing with the Giants broke, the 2014 Super Bowl champion said that he has a feeling for MetLife Stadium and plenty of memories there.
But while he’s genuinely excited about the quarterbacking job and ready to prove himself, the Giants are already planning to give him some tough, relentless competition. He already has to deal with Jameis Winston, a seasoned gunslinger with something to prove, but the latest update is gonna shock Russell for sure.

A tough fight for the QB1 spot awaits Russell Wilson
Russ is in New York. But is he secure there? Reports are stirring up excitement that Shedeur Sanders’s name is still on the Giants’ quarterback list. Schefter wrote on X, “Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has been, and continues to be, linked to the Giants, no matter what quarterbacks New York adds to its roster.” After adding Jameis Winston—who passed for 2,121 yards last season to score 13 touchdowns with a 61.1% completion rate—and Russell Wilson, it was rumored that the Giants would not make further additions in their QB room in the NFL draft. But that might just be a rumor.

And while this update hits New York City, reports—or perhaps rumors—suggest that the Giants are considering drafting Jaxson Dart. A few hours ago, Ian Rapoport reported, “Jaxson Dart, as he gets ready for his Pro Day, has, in fact, spent extensive time with the Browns, the Giants, and some others who are trying to learn about him and figure out where he slots in.” Now, this could spell trouble for Russell Wilson.
