In a recent episode of his podcast, Tyreek Hill revealed three major factors that helped him elevate his performance since joining the Dolphins team. The star player stated, “It’s just this year, I’m more comfortable in the offense. I understand the scheme, I understand where to be at for the quarterback, and truth be told I understand the defense.” He continued, “I’ve been doing that but now I understand the offense. I know where Tua wants me to be, and me and Tua communicate.

Hill emphasized that communication and clarity between the quarterback and the players are crucial for scoring. It is important for every player in the team to “remain on the same page.” The wide receiver accepted that he wasn’t doing this last year, but this year, he has been following all these stages, and hence it is helping him to become a strong contender for the MVP this time.

So, Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs, or the coach weren’t the reasons behind Hill’s slightly lesser performance. It was Tyreek Hill’s different game approach that caused it. Perhaps, following communication, understanding the scheme, and the defense, Tyreek Hill is achieving milestones now in the season, with the latest being his reaching 1,000 receiving yards.

After partnering with the Dolphins, Tyreek Hill made use of his elite receiver potential to help Tua Tagovailoa and uplifted the team’s whole offense. Last year, he finished off the season playing in 17 games. During that time, he made 119 catches for a total of 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. He rushed for 32 yards and scored a touchdown in seven attempts.

Because of his excellent performance, he became an All-Pro First Team Pro Bowler and helped lead Miami to the playoffs. This season, Hill has now 1,076 yards in just 11 games. Furthermore, he became the first player to reach 1,000 receiving yards in just eight games, as well as the first in 62 years to reach 1,200 yards through his first ten games. The last player who did this was Charlie Hennigan in 1961, who gained 1,245 yards in the first 10 games.
