QB Tua Tagovailoa has disclosed the secret behind the Christmas win. The Miami Dolphins have given the best present to the home crowd by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 22-20 at the Hard Rock. Both the teams came into the game with 10 wins and 4 losses. With this win, the Dolphins have made sure that the AFC East division hands the Cowboys their second defeat in a row.
The teams are well known for their strong offense, but this time it was the defense that shone out. The offense did its part by securing three TDs. It was the day of the kickers as they scored 7 field goals. Eventually, it was the field kick by Jason Sanders at the last second that sealed the deal for the Dolphins. After the game, Tua Tagovailoa told the reason behind their control at the end.

In the post-match presser, a reporter asked some questions related to field goals from the QB, “Tua when you come in a drive like that you need a field goal to win or maybe use as much as the clock as possible”. He further asked about his mindset as a QB “How do you manage being aggressive versus not making a mistake in that situation? How as quarterback you manage those things?”
Tua Tagovailoa explained his mentality as a QB and highlighted the gameplay, “I think around the league everyone knows that 3 minutes and 20 something seconds is a normal play for any quarterback”. The QB explained, “That’s how we looked at it, we didn’t have to do anything more than what was required during that play.” He also added, “We didn’t have to take a shot if it was unnecessary, we got completions, we got the ball moving forward.” As the planned work well in the end, Tagovailoa is surely a happier man as his team has now secured a spot in the playoffs officially.

On the other hand, the Cowboys have already made it to the playoffs but their recent losses have made them lose out on momentum at a crucial stage. They will remain in the second spot if the Eagles manage to win their next. Despite the current standing of the team, it’s safe to say that the close loss would have hurt, that too at the last second.
