Harrison Butker just can’t seem to catch a break. And honestly, it’s his own doing that keeps coming back to bite him. Remember that controversial speech where he shared his outdated view on how women should be homemakers? Yeah, that didn’t sit well with a lot of folks—especially his Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who wasn’t shy about clapping back.
Now, Butker’s vocal support for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris is stirring up more trouble. It looks like he’s not on the same page as Tay-Tay, who’s been pretty vocal about her support for Harris. And guess who’s jumping into the fray? None other than Beyoncé, worth a cool $800 million, who’s now backing Kamala in a rally video. The ad wraps up with Beyoncé’s powerful lyrics, “I’ma keep running ‘cause a winner don’t quit on themselves.”
But she’s not alone, as Tay-Tay is officially in Kamala’s corner for the 2024 presidential race, too. Yes! Swift made her announcement right after Harris wrapped her first debate with Trump, saying, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight.” Further, she emphasized the importance of doing research before hitting the polls, reminding us all that it’s not just about the glitz and glam—there are real issues at stake. She added, “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Hence why, she let everyone know that she’d be voting for @kamalaharris. You might wonder why, right? Well, Swift tackled that question herself, as she said, “I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.” Her vibe is all about steady leadership—something she sees in Kamala. Plus, she’s impressed with Kamala’s choice of running mate, Tim Walz. That’s because he has been fighting the good fight for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s rights for years. And Tay-Tay loves it!
But hold up—Harrison Butker might have a thing or two to say about this. He’s been pretty vocal against the LGBTQ+ community and women chasing their career dreams. Remember that controversial speech where he called out “dangerous gender ideologies” during Pride Month? Oof! That didn’t land well, and let me tell you, the backlash was like a defensive line crashing through his offensive play.

Harrison Butker’s all-in for Donald Trump
Well, well, well! Now, that speech at the Benedictine College isn’t the only thing biting Harrison Butker. While many have come out in support of Kamala Harris, the Chiefs’ kicker is pretty vocal about his support for her counterpart Donald Trump. But before that, we can’t seem to get one thing off our minds.
You have to laugh at the irony. Hear us out! Butker said: “As my teammate’s [Travis] girlfriend [Taylor Swift] says, ‘familiarity breeds contempt’.” And guess what? He used that only to follow up his statement criticizing abortion, IVF, surrogacy, and even euthanasia. Yup! The same things that Tay-Tay so vocally stood up for. Now, that’s a battle Butker should have stayed away from. But now, it seems he has backed it up by showing support for Trump. Uh-Oh!

What’s your perspective on:
Can Butker's support for Trump survive the backlash from Swift and Beyoncé's powerful influence?
Have an interesting take?
In a Fox News interview, he stated, “I’m supporting the president that’s going to be the most pro-life. And I think Donald Trump is the most pro-life president.” Guess he’s taking a hard stance based on his Catholic values. See, the thing is, everyone has a right to choose. It’s freedom of choice. But at this point, seeing Butker’s recent history, it’s all piling up against him.
And that’s where he could use some learning lessons from his teammates. While he keeps on adding to controversies, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are staying locked in on keeping business strictly to the gridiron. I mean, when you have got a 3-peat on your mind, you can’t be letting distractions and unnecessary controversies get to you.
