TJ Watt's baby news—Will this bring even more fire to his game next season?

Steelers linebacker TJ Watt recently gave good news to his fans. Posting a photo with his wife, Dani, on Instagram, he announced their first child will be born in February 2025. The couple got married in a lavish ceremony in July 2022. Apart from family, the LB’s teammates and other NFL players are also excited. And everyone open-heartedly congratulated him on his IG post.

Offensive tackle Cameron Heyward was the first to greet the couple, expressing his wish in his comment, “Congrats Brodie! Am I in the running for godfather?!” Quarterback, Russell Wilson, knows what it feels like to be a father. Reminiscing about his times, he congratulated the couple and wrote, “Wow! Yessss sirrr.” He even went one step ahead by posting a photo of the couple on an IG story. Retired linebacker Anthony Chickillo also wished them, writing, “Congratulations brotha, so happy for you and Dani.” The unborn baby has a lot of good godfathers to choose from. Other players too joined in.

Some players (TJ Watt has played with) also greeted the couple despite changing their teams. Receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who is now with the Kansas City Chiefs, just wrote ‘Congrats‘ with a balloon emoji. A free agent now, nose tackle Breiden Fehoko congratulated Watt by commenting, “Yessah! Papa Teej congrats bro.” While the moment is joyful for the teammates, fans are also excited.

TJ Watt’s unique method to sign free agents

Recently, he appeared on Heyward’s Not Just Football Podcast and gave up his secret to lure the free agents. Calling it an easy process, he said, “It’s easy. There really isn’t much you have to pitch because Mike Tomlin is so well-known across the league and respected. And the fans, I mean, when we travel everywhere, the fans come with us, so it’s just an incredible place to play.” He further explained that most players (who want to sign) talk to him and other Steelers’ players to know about the locker room. And the head coach and the Steeler Nation give him an advantage to convince them. But the conversation didn’t stop there.

The linebacker has an urgent task in 2024. The team hasn’t won any playoff game since 2016. And they want to change that. Trying to pump the locker room, he often tells everyone they are close. The additions of Wilson and LB Patrick Queen have increased their chances. But in the big league, nothing is permanent.

The players know that time in the NFL is limited. Hence, they want to add a Lombardi Trophy to their career achievements. Will this season be a game-changer? TJ Watt believes it is.
