It was not even a competition when the Eagles faced the Chiefs in the Caesars Superdome. Vic Fangio’s defense completely obliterated the Chiefs’ O-line. And we’re not even exaggerating anything. Come on, the Eagles had more points than the Chiefs had yards at the end of the first half. Yes, it was literally 24-0, and the Chiefs only had 23 yards. I know, right? It was brutal. Even Patrick Mahomes was seen panicking and chewing on his mouthguard on the sidelines. On the other hand, Jalen Hurts was calm, collected, and doing what a leader must do. With a dominating 40-22 score in the end, Nick Sirianni’s Eagles broke the Chiefs’ 3-peat dream and won their second Lombardi Trophy.
Oh boy, picking just one moment from this game? Nearly impossible. There was so much happening—from record-breaking performances to emotional highs—and you can bet the Eagles’ OT Jordan Mailata’s name will be remembered. He didn’t just win his first Super Bowl, but also became the first Aussie to do it.
In a post-game appearance on Good Morning America, Former NFL player Michael Strahan asked, “You guys are going to kind of make up for the loss that you had the last time. Was there some revenge, somewhat of a motivator in this?” And Jordan wisely said, “I had a lot of reasons for wanting to win this game. But it definitely drew from the experiences of the last time we were here. So I think it was just very important for us—the guys who were here two years ago—to finish the job.”

You know how that saying goes? Revenge is a dish best served cold. Well, Philly better put that as their slogan for now. The last time these two teams faced off in ‘23, it was a close game. The Eagles’ performance was amazing back then, but Kansas City got the upper hand in the end by just 3 points. It’s games like these that hurt the players the most—I mean, to come so far, only to fall short. Jordan took that as inspiration and stood by his team. Remember the first Tush Push by the Eagles? Jordan Mailata made sure that Jalen Hurts got that first TD.
Jeffrey Lurie must’ve been so happy with his $100 million investment. Yes, last year, Jordan signed a three-year extension through ‘28, and he made sure that Clark Hunt’s Chiefs felt the wrath of the Eagles’ defense this time. In a post-game interview, the host asked, “How are you, for your offensive line, able to come in and take command of the team?” And Jordan confidently said, “You’ve got to want to be more physical. That was a great defense we were going up against, so we knew we had to answer that call. That ain’t easy. But we got there.” Jordan and the Eagles made the Super Bowl look like a practice day match.

And AJ Brown had something to say about the win and Patrick Mahomes who couldn’t stand tall this time around.
Did AJ Brown just expose Patrick Mahomes as ‘Average’?
It was back in the 2020 season when AJ Brown talked about going through depression and anxiety. He even talked about giving up on life, but look at the man now. Seems like the book Inner Excellence did its magic, because his performance helped the Eagles get the upper hand. He caught 3 passes for 43 yards and a 12-yard TD in the last minutes of the first half. This is the first time he got himself a Super Bowl ring, and when asked in the post-game interviews, “Was that everything you wanted?” he happily said, “Yes, absolutely.”

The reporter also asked him what the guys were talking about on the sidelines. AJ replied, “We can’t write history, but we can make it even.” Sheesh, such a quotable line, isn’t it? But the thing that caught the most attention was when he was asked about the Eagles’ defense performance. AJ Brown confidently said, “They played unbelievable. They played lights out. That’s a good team, that’s a good quarterback. He’s probably the best quarterback in the game. We just made him look average. And we know he’s not average.”
Well, he’s not wrong, because Patrick and Co. were actually struggling against the Eagles throughout the game. In the end, the reporter asked, “You were here a few years ago. You didn’t win. What did you learn from that, and how good does it feel now that you’re able to figure that out?” AJ said, “I told myself more than two times this weekend, make sure that green confetti is falling. Then it’ll be worth it.”
