We’re in the endgame now. And of course, some of you are waiting for the 3-peat. It’s all set for the clash between the Chiefs vs Eagles and eyes are on the Mahomes vs Hurts contest. But you know who’s carrying the Eagles right? Yeah, it’s their RB Saquon Barkley. Carrying is an understatement, looking at his stats compared to his counterparts.
Man, what a beast Saquon is! When you stack him up against the Chiefs’ running backs, it’s like night and day. Barkley had 2,447 yards on 411 rushes, averaging a solid 6.0 yards per carry. Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ entire squad of running backs only managed 1,451 yards on 394 rushes which is more than a dozen, insane! While the YPC is near half of Barkley with 3.7. That’s a huge difference! And let’s not forget TDs – Barkley hit the end zone 18 times, while the Chiefs’ backs only got there 11 times. All the notes on the Chiefs’ drawing board would definitely have his name as they plan on winning the historic 3-peat.
Kareem Hunt led the pack of Chiefs with 790 rushing yards on 394 carries, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He had 24 receptions for 112 yards too. While he only found the end zone once, his steady play was clutch for the Chiefs. But still, you can just see the glaring difference between the two leading RBs of the Super Bowl. To even compare him, you’ve to find different metrics of different RBs. Like the second in the TRYs list is Derrick Henry with 1921.

But does this mean a big win for the Eagles? Think again. Because if you look at the numbers of other RB other than those two, you’ll find why the Eagles have to improve a bit. Chiefs’ Pacheco rushed for a combined 358 yards on 88 attempts, with an average of 4.1 yards per carry. He also caught 14 passes for 91 yards. Gainwell, on the other hand, rushed for 240 yards on 63 attempts, averaging 3.8 yards per carry, and added 12 receptions for 96 yards. Let’s hope we won’t see 1 v 3 between the RBs, but there’s no doubt it’s Barkley’s season who might snag the MVP title.
Saquon Barkley is all eyes for the MVP

Barkley had a solid season but he has some serious competition with the other QBs. Looking at the odds, Josh Allen is the top dog right now with odds at -450. Lamar Jackson isn’t far behind at +320. Barkley’s holding strong with +240, which is impressive for a running back. Joe Burrow and Jared Goff are in the mix too, but Barkley’s season has been breathing fire. It’s wild to think that the last running back to win the MVP was Terrell Davis way back in Super Bowl XXXII. Barkley’s season is kinda GOAT, and his stats back it up, especially his plays in the clutch moments.

In Week 12 against the Rams, he made a franchise-record 255 yards and two touchdowns in a single game. Then, in the NFC Divisional Round, he smashed another record with 205 rushing yards and two epic 60-plus yard touchdowns. Even in the playoffs, vs the Rams, which felt like the famous “Snow Bowl” of 2013, Barkley went off with 205 rushing yards and a clutch 78-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory. And we’re not forgetting that cheeky tease to Verse from that game.
Historically, quarterbacks dominate this award, winning 33 out of 58 times, but Barkley’s making a strong case. With the Chiefs as slight favorites for the Super Bowl, Mahomes is chasing a historic three-peat as MVP, but Barkley’s performance could tip the scales. Even the Rams QB’s wife Kelly Stafford suggested that it should be based on the impact of the player on the team. In the end, it’s between the two players from the Super Bowl match-up and it’s becoming mouth-watering.
