Tanner McKee turned heads with his splendid performance again! During Sunday’s clash against the Giants, the QB astonishingly recorded two touchdown passes with a QB rating of 100.6. In his first NFL start on Sunday, McKee helped Nick Sirianni’s Eagles to a 20-13 win over the Giants. But this win is not enough for McKee. He sent a clear message to his team post-game.
McKee finished the regular season finale completing 27 passes out of 41 for 269 yards. After his breathtaking performance, Tanner expressed his exhilaration, saying, “14 wins is great. But we have higher standards for ourselves. We are really excited to see what we can do in the playoffs.” The Eagles will face the Packers in the wild-card round.
After the SNF game, he also expressed his happiness for his impressive performance during a press conference. “It’s been a while since I’ve done this,” McKee asserted. Not only this, but during his post-game PC, Tanner also credited Kellen Moore, Eagles offensive coordinator for this massive win.

Tanner asserted, “I think that credit goes to Kellen Moore for calling good plays, getting everybody touches. I’m going through my progressions a lot of the time. A lot of times it’s pick your matchup, or leverage, or whatever that is. But a lot of times I’m going through the progressions and trying to find the open guy.” Amid the celebration of the Eagles’ win against the Giants, even Eagles coach Nick Sirianni could not resist appreciating McKee. “I thought he was in complete control of the game today, making good decisions,” Sirianni retreated.
Besides adoring his impressive performance against the Giants, the Eagles coach also reflected his sentiments on McKee’s performance this season. “We’re excited about Tanner and the player he is. I love our quarterback room, obviously starting with Jalen (Hurts) and all the great things Jalen has done this year to help us get to where we are right now,” he continued. “Kenny has had really good minutes and played a good game last week. Played a good game against Washington. Then Tanner doing what he did today and at the end of the Dallas week last week. Love that room,” Nick further added.
Clearly, McKee made waves earlier by recording his first NFL touchdown against the Cowboys. And, his week 18 success truly showcased his on-field dominance. No wonder he grabbed attention when Jalen Hurts was absent from Sunday’s game. Hurts was sidelined from the last two regular season games since he suffered a concussion in a game against the Commanders in Week 15.
Tanner’s stance for the locker room players just came after Sirianni shared Hurts’s concussion protocol update.

As mentioned in the Yardbarker report published on Sunday, Sirianni had a discussion with NJ.com regarding Hurts’ concussion protocol. The head coach confirmed that Hurts will continue to go through it.
HC Sirianni confirmed that Jalen Hurts was present at the walkthrough on Saturday. However, he added that the QB remained in the concussion protocol. “Same as what we talked about (Friday). He is progressing through the (concussion) protocol. Can’t say much more when guys are in the protocol except for that,” Sirianni added.
“Guys, he’s progressing through the protocol,” the HC further clarified. “We’ve talked a lot about that. I respect your questions. I’m going to answer them all, but yeah he’s progressing through the protocol.”

Being sidelined for more than two weeks, Hurts is now missing both practices and games because of his concussion. The extended rest was necessary, but this could be hurtful for the Eagles. They will face the Packers in the wild-card round. While McKee performed well in his absence, HC Sirianni would like to have his QB1 back.
