The NFL week 13 game between the Eagles and the 49ers delivered more drama than it had promised. The highly anticipated match-up received widespread attention after the Eagles became the home underdogs despite leading the league 10-1. In the greatest plot twist of the season, the 49ers managed to back the odds. They trounced Jason Kelce–Jalen Hurts‘ Eagles 42-19.
But even before the game was over, the third quarter saw a heated incident at the sideline. After allegedly punching Eagles’ Security Officer Dom DiSandro following a foul on WR DeVonta Smith, the 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw saw the exit along with DiSandro. However, the Eagles Center Jason Kelce had a straightforward view of the incident. He said a seven-word verdict while talking about it

Talking to brother Travis Kelce, the center acknowledged the quality from the Californian side. He pointed out that they were trying hard to get the game under control, especially Dre Greenlaw. He further mentioned that the incident was on the sidelines, and had no effect in the plays.
“He’s a good player. Like listen, he’s a good player. They have great players on their defense”, Kelce acknowledged. “I don’t even think what Greenlaw did on the sideline was that… like it was a personal foul, but it’s like one of those ones where it’s like… He’s on the sideline, he’s trying to make a play and he’s playing hard,” the center insisted it was a genuine attempt from their linebacker to make a play, but escalated to a brawl.

“I didn’t think that it was that chippy and I don’t think Dom meant anything. He was just trying to separate the two in the instance,” the veteran refused to blame either for what happened. “I know Dom and I trust that what he was trying to do was just diffuse a situation,” Kelce resonated to head coach Nick Sirianni. “When people are on the sidelines, people get in together, people try and separate them… I don’t think it’s a huge deal, either way”, he concluded saying the exclusion doesn’t cause much worries on either side.
The Eagles may receive more pressure on and off the field

Further updates from the Washington Post revealed that the league was looking into the incident. They “could impose disciplinary measures against the Eagles and their security staffer involved in the episode”, it read. But as Kelce pointed out, the team couldn’t care less. And ‘Big Dom’, as the team lovingly calls him, received a standing ovation from the home fans while going out.
It remains uncertain when the review will be completed. But what’s certain is the result added a whole lot of drama to the Super Bowl contention. The seemingly invincible Eagles were proven mortals, right at their home field, and that was a follow-up from the Bills game who reached the extra mile with the NFC champions, nearly suffocating them.
Can the other teams take note of the consecutive matches and draw a blueprint to handle the Eagles? Well, we are no coaches, and that will only get revealed with time.
