Is Dylan Raiola the next Patrick Mahomes, or is the comparison too early to make?

Patrick Mahomes is out there building a dynasty in Kansas City, having won three Super Bowls and two MVPs since taking over the starting berth in 2018. While he is busy ruling over the Chiefs Kingdom, Mahomes has turned into an inspiration for the next generation of QBs. Well, one of those names is Cornrushers QB Dylan Raiola, who boasts a striking resemblance to the reigning Super Bowl Champion.

Although there have been lots of gossip regarding their similarity, the QB plug on Instagram revealed the secret behind Raiola looking ‘Mahomey.’ Sharing a video of Raiola practicing in the bye week, the Nebraska QB was seen linking up with Patrick Mahomes’ private QB coach, Jeff Christensen. Within the short video, Jeff was seen helping Raiola improve his stance by asking him to “close your eyes” while passing the football to rushers.

Well, getting help from Mahomes’ private coach will surely do a world of good for Raiola in his quest to become the best at his position. But his body language isn’t the only thing that makes us compare him with the Chiefs QB. As Dylan also shares the same haircut as Mahomes, which often leads to people trying to forge a connection between them. But they are nowhere to be related.

However, Mahomes did refer to Raiola as “Lil cuzzo” on his X-tagging a TD pass he made against the UTEP this season. And that wasn’t the only comment the three-time Super Bowl champion made about Raiola. Recently, he spoke highly about Raiola looking up to him while sharing his idols as he stepped into the NFL. “It’s cool honestly. I was that guy. I loved Alex Rodriguez, played shortstop, and would try to make plays just like him, I know Dylan, I trained with him in the offseason. He’s a great kid, a great football player, and I think he’s going to make his stamp on the game.”

But it’s still pretty early for him to think about the NFL, as the earliest he can join Mahomes would be in 2027. As he continues to practice with the Chiefs QB’s private QB coach, Mahomes got a few tips of his own from his long-time personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe.

It’s been 20 years since the first time Mahomes found himself under the wing of his personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe. Yes, Stroupe has been by the side of Mahomes since he was 9 years old, learning how to throw a football. To continue their burgeoning relationship, Stroupe even moved from Texas to Kansas City in order to help Mahomes at his game.

While practicing during the bye week, the Chiefs QB spoke about how Stroupe’s voice keeps him steady on the field, “His voice is in my ear at all times. He doesn’t let the little things slide.” As Mahomes personal trainer held a training session on Friday in Olathe. He gave his suggestions on Mahomes improving his technical model. “He knows that he needs to keep himself a little more accountable too, right?”

Continuing his thoughts, Stroupe talked about the importance of footwork in Mahomes’ game, “Footwork is a generic thing to say, but the way that Patrick moves is very unique. And he’s got to get back to the base of who he is. It’s not like he’s far off.” Although he was skeptical about praising his student of two decades, he did talk about his physicality being in a “good place.”
