The Seattle Seahawks have lost three back-to-back games. For their NFC playoff dreams to have a solid chance of becoming a reality, they cannot afford to lose the upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers. But ahead of the game, there is some concerning news coming out of the Seahawks’ camp.

Will Drew Lock manage to lead his team to victory against the 49ers? The 49ers will enter Week 14 with a 9-3 record, while the Seahawks have a 0.500 record.

Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter took to X to announce that QB Geno Smith has been ruled out of the game due to a persistent groin injury. Backup QB Drew Lock will fill in for him. Although the injury report ahead of the game painted a bleak picture, many doubtful players, such as Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet, have been listed as active.

Smith suffered a groin injury on Thursday during their second-last practice session of the week. Even though doctors prohibited him from playing a game for the next two weeks, the QB hoped he would play against the 49ers today. However, that is the case, as the Seahawks want to stay on the side of caution and prevent further damage to their star QB.
