Is Jerod Mayo going to get fired? Well, this has been a major question following the Patriots‘ terrible season this year. Everyone is blaming the HC for the team’s poor performance, yet it appears that the players still have faith in him. Drake Maye, the Patriots quarterback, has praised his coach and believes that next year the team will attain its full potential.

For those who missed, the rookie discussed these topics at a media appearance. With great confidence, the man claims that Jerod Mayo has the key to the Patriots’ future. In addition to the team’s faith in him, Drake Maye disclosed that there is a possibility that this season’s failure was caused by the fact that it was the HC’s first season.

The QB stated, “It was a tough challenge for the New England Patriots. Like I said it’s a lot of responsibility to be QB same as HC, it’s a lot of responsibility. He’s figuring it out and I think our players are behind him, we’re backing him. We trust the plan he’s got for us….. We believe in him”

While Drake Maye made an excellent comment, it appears that the hate reaction to Jerod Mayo has not abated. The firing rumors have reached a fever pitch after the Patriots fell 30-17 to the Cardinals in Week 15. And as usual, the crowd is blaming the HC for the loss.

This fury toward Mayo is partially due to the fact that Bill Belichick has already set a high standard that is tough to surpass. However, if the team’s performance does not improve in the near future, Mayo may be sacked. And it appears that someone is already prepared to replace him. But wait, who?

Who is prepared to succeed Jerod Mayo in the future?

Interestingly, among the firing rumors for Mayo, it appears that he has some competition for his position. According to some sources, Mike Vrabel, the coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns, is interested in becoming the New England Patriots’ head coach.

NFL insider Tom Curran revealed this in his recent report, “Mike Vrabel would be interested in coaching for the New England Patriots. I think that he looks at the Patriots, and despite the warts, says, I’ll go back there.”

While Vrabel has not made a word on the subject, it is possible that the report is true. This will give Vrabel a big boost in his coaching career. And who knows, it might provide the missing piece that the New England Patriots have been looking for. It’s been four years since the squad qualified for the playoffs, therefore they need to address the concerns before the next season. So stay tuned with us to find out what will happen.
