The 2024 NFL International Series is heating up in London! The Jaguars and Bears are gearing up for a showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and guess who’s making a comeback? Jacksonville’s TE Evan Engram is ready to get back in the game. After being sidelined since Week 2, the Jaguars are finally getting some much-needed firepower.
Doug Pederson gave fans some hope, saying it “looks good today for practice” for Engram. They’ll ease him back in, keep an eye on him, and “having him back is a huge boost for the offense.” Feels like Jacksonville’s offense just found its missing spark!

The Jaguars have been trying to fill the gap he left behind, and while backup Brenton Strange has done his best—putting up solid numbers with 12 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns—Engram brings that extra level of firepower. It’s like getting your star player back just before a critical game.
Engram’s been easing his way back in, practicing in a limited capacity last week. Pederson mentioned Engram was really close to suiting up then, so this week? The chances look even better. “I would anticipate him doing more this week,” Pederson said, and it’s music to fans’ ears. Let’s be real—getting him back on the field would give the Jaguars’ offense a whole new dynamic, and Engram’s track record with 188 receptions and 1,734 yards for the Jaguars speaks for itself.
So, will Engram be ready for Sunday’s clash in London? All signs point to yes, and his return could be the game-changer Jacksonville needs. They’ll face the Bears first, then head into Week 7 to take on New England at Wembley Stadium. Looks like the Jaguars are about to turn things up a notch across the pond!

Can Evan Engram help the Jaguars sort out offensive woes?
What’s your perspective on:
Will Evan Engram's return ignite the Panthers' offense, or is it too late for a turnaround?
Have an interesting take?
The Jags’ offense has been stuck in neutral all season. With just 2.8 third-down conversions per game (30th in the league) and a meager 15 points per contest, things aren’t looking great. And the return of Evan Engram could not have come more timely than ahead of the week 6 matchup.
Ask Trevor Lawrence. He must be the most relieved guy in Jacksonville right now. Especially with the positive updates on his trusted security blanket. And why not? Engram had career-best numbers in 2023 where he hauled in 114 catches for nearly 1,000 yards (963 to be specific). So, no doubt, his return might feel like a W before the kick-off whistle.

Now, while the Bears’ defense has been solid against tight ends, let’s not forget who they’ve faced. None of the teams they’ve played—Titans, Texans, Colts, Rams, Panthers—boast tight ends anywhere near Engram’s caliber. So, even against a tough defense, Engram’s connection with Lawrence could still lead to big plays.
But all comes down if Engram steps up. It could be the beginning of the season turnaround for that O-line. But a game of grit is not won with ifs, buts, and maybes. So, let’s hope the #17 rises to the occasion.
