It was an awful scene at Browns Camp. While participating in a punting drill during practice, Cleveland’s RB D’Onta Foreman took a serious hit straight to his head. Foreman was immediately carted off on a stretcher to the hospital, freaking the whole team out.

Browns’ beat writer and Pro Football Hall of Fame selector Mary Kay Cabot shared a post on X, providing a major update on the Browns’ new RB: “Browns D’Onta Foreman has feeling in his extremities and is in good spirits I’m told.”

Signed with the Cleveland team on March 22, Foreman is yet to play a snap but is already dealing with a nasty injury. The incident occurred during Browns’ Thursday practice, when Foreman took a hard hit resulting in neck pain. Right after, he was immobilized and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Per updates shared by NFL reporter Kay Cabot on X, the 28-year-old ‘had movement in all his extremities’ before being carted off-field. “Our athletic training staff deployed their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman,” the Cleveland Browns said in an official statement. “Updates will be provided as more information is received.”

Last season with the Bears, the Longhorns product rushed for 425 yards and four TDs on 109 carries. Sharing the backfield with Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson, Foreman was expected to add depth behind star RB Nick Chubb, who’s coming back from a season-ending knee injury.

Browns’ RB Nick Chubb’s knee injury health update

The Cleveland team’s running back suffered a knee injury that wiped out his entire 2023 season in Week 2, last Sept. The four-time Pro Bowler has been on the PUP list to start training camp.

Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski offered an optimistic update to the media, stating that their star RB is “progressing exactly where he should be.” That’s great news for a team that missed its workhorse last season. “He’s doing everything we’re asking him to do. He’ll be back when he’s back,” the coach further explained.

However, the Browns are treading carefully with Nick Chubb. He’s a four-time 1,000-yard rusher, lighting up the field with 1,525 yards and 12 TDs. And the team knows how valuable the running back is and they can’t really put him back at the risk of re-injury.

Now, everyone’s watching Chubb’s rehab, waiting for his epic return; while Foreman is recuperating from his injury.
