Are the Dolphins making a huge mistake if they let Tyreek Hill go?

When your team’s in trade talks for a star, it’s all smiles. But when your star might be heading for greener pastures, that’s when the nerves kick in! Fortunately for Dolphins fans, Tyreek Hill isn’t eyeing an exit like Davante Adams with the Raiders. Still, Hill stirred the pot with a cryptic one-liner on social media, sparking a buzz.

Cheetah could not find a better time than a random Wednesday morning to post this on X: “Woke up to trade news exciting.” Uh-Oh! If you’re a Dolfan, we’d suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. Let’s remember who we’re dealing with—Tyreek Hill. The man loves a good troll. So, is this really about him? Or is he just reacting to the swirling trade talks, especially with Davante Adams wanting out of Vegas?

You see, no trade involving Hill has been reported—yet. So why post something like this? Well, this could just be Tyreek’s playful jab at the chaos happening around the league. Adams has been making headlines with his potential exit from the Raiders, and Tyreek might just be throwing fuel on that fire. After all, the NFL loves drama, and who better than Hill to stir the pot?

But if we’re looking at this from a practical lens, Miami recently restructured Hill‘s contract to keep him in South Beach with a $90 million deal over the next three years. Could they save a ton by trading him? Sure. But let’s not forget, the Dolphins aren’t exactly waving the white flag yet. Even though Tua’s on IR and the season’s looking rocky, is it smart to trade your biggest offensive weapon?

The most curious part? The timing of it all. Adams’ news hit the airwaves Tuesday afternoon, and Hill’s post came a whole 20 hours later. So, is he really just waking up to this? Or is this a well-timed troll? Either way, it’s classic Tyreek, keeping fans guessing and the NFL world on edge. But all said, the Phins are really not helping themselves with an off-beat start to the 2024 season.

Tyreek Hill lost it as the Dolphins lost against the Titans

What’s your perspective on:

Are the Dolphins making a huge mistake if they let Tyreek Hill go?

Have an interesting take?

Make it 3 losses in a row now! The Dolphins are now sitting at 1-3 after the defeat against the Titans. And why the ‘trade’ comment from Tyreek Hill might cause an uproar amongst the Dolfans is something many of you might have guessed. Cheetah lost it from the sidelines. And honestly, can you blame him?

Ever since Tua Tagovailoa suffered that concussion in Week 2 against the Bills, it’s been a rough ride. With Tua on the sidelines, the Dolphins have been spinning their wheels, and Hill is feeling it. Sure, Tua might be back by Week 8, but will that be too little too late? You’ve got to wonder if Hill’s starting to think about greener pastures, especially after watching the Dolphins slide into mediocrity.

Let’s not forget—Hill’s been a beast in Miami. In just over two seasons, he’s racked up 255 receptions, 3,726 yards, and 21 touchdowns. Those numbers scream dominance. But with Miami yet to win a playoff game in his time there, you can’t help but ask: is Hill ready for a fresh start somewhere else? The 30-year-old still has plenty of gas left in the tank, and a new team could give him the spark he needs.

So, what’s next for the Cheetah? Is it time for Miami to pull the plug on Hill’s chapter in South Beach, or will Tua’s return breathe life back into this offense? It’s a good dilemma to have going into week 5. It might get to a point of now or never!
