Tyreek Hill isn’t just fast on the field—he’s quick to jump on a new wave, too. One day, he’s torching defense; the next, he’s stirring up conversations in places you wouldn’t expect. His latest venture? Well, it looks like the Miami Dolphins wide receiver is looking to enter the crypto market. Nope, that’s not a typo.
Recently, Hill took to his official ‘X’ handle and tagged the Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, saying, “Yo I heard my boy @stoolpresidente cooking up on the memecoins. Put me on?” Guess no one saw that coming, right? Hill is known for his other ventures, whether they are real estate investments or endorsement deals. But entering the crypto market? That was probably not on the fans’ bucket list.
As for Portnoy… well, he’s never one to shy away from the spotlight. Because let’s be real—if there’s one thing Dave Portnoy knows how to do, it’s turning chaos into cash. The Barstool Sports founder’s involvement in memecoin has been both lucrative and controversial. Remember when he jumped into the JAILSTOOL memecoin frenzy? Yeah, that one move that had the crypto community buzzing.

It all started when traders jokingly dubbed him to be “jailed” for pumping another memecoin. But nope, instead of brushing it off, Portnoy embraced it and did what he does best—leaned into the drama and flipped it into a business opportunity. Enter JAILSTOOL, a memecoin that skyrocketed over 500,000% in just a few days, all because Portnoy decided to back it. That’s another thing: the hype didn’t last forever, and the coin has gone down 30% within a few days.

But that didn’t hold Tyreek Hill from figuring out a way to land in the crypto market. He hopped on to his official ‘X’ handle and launched his own coin dubbed the “Cheetah Coin (CHEETAH).” Plus, the veteran wide receiver also asked if he’s doing this right, “am I doing this right,” he wrote in his ‘X’ post. The kicker? Well, soon after sharing his seemingly new venture, Tyreek Hill deleted his posts from his ‘X’ handle.
Whether it was a funny banter or he’s really serious about entering the crypto market…guess we’ll never know. But one thing’s certain: the 31-year-old WR is all set to return for another season with the Dolphins.
Tyreek Hill sets to return Miami for another season
“I’m out.” That’s what Tyreek Hill stated following the team’s season-ending 32–20 loss against the New York Jets. The reason? Well, there could be a couple of ones. Coming from a back-to-back 1,500+ season with the Dolphins, Hill was supposed to be a troublemaker for the opposition. But nope, the wideout was disappointed with his performance after the Miami team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last season.
Fast forward to now, and he’s keen to return for another season with the Dolphins. A couple of weeks ago, Hill took to his official ‘X’ handle and cleared all the speculations around his trade rumors. “This will be my best year yet dolfans,” he posted on his ‘X’ post. On top of that, he confirmed his desire to play in Miami when he appeared on Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams.

I do, I do, I don’t want to go nowhere,” he told Adams when asked if he would want to continue playing at Hard Rock Stadium. “I love it. My family loves it. Kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning. So it’s an amazing thing, man.” He further added, “We are really building something special in Miami. We made it to the playoffs the first two years. Obviously, this year was hard, but if guys continue to buy into what coach (Mike McDaniel) is building and the culture that he’s trying to build, it’s going yo be a beautiful thing, man.”

After the Chiefs traded Hill to the Dolphins back in 2022, the WR recorded his career-high 1,710 yards and racked up seven TDs in his first season with the Dolphins. As for his second season, you can just say the guy picked things where he left off. The 31-year-old WR felt just one yard shy of recording 1,800 yards while notching 13 TDs in his second season. BUT!
The WR finished his 2024 season with the Miami team after recording just 959 yards in 17 starts with just 6 TDs. The team failed to secure a postseason berth for the first time since the 2021 season. As for Tyreek Hill, the wideout was disappointed with his performance, knowing he could not connect well with Tua Tagovailoa. The silver line? Well, despite a poor season, Hill is now set to return for his fourth season in Miami and don’t be shocked if he pulls off a career high in 2025.
