Tyreek Hill and his Kansas City Chiefs saga has been one of the highlights of the NFL realm. Despite parting ways with the current Super Bowl champion team, the Cheetah has a strong point concerning the Chiefs. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver came forth in a recent podcast called CTESPN with Antonio Brown and poured his heart out about leaving the Kansas City Chiefs.
His words highlighted how at some point the WR might have felt ignored by his team as they didn’t try to retain him at all. This might have been especially hard for the Super Bowl-winning WR considering how his relationship with Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes has been a noteworthy friendship. Nonetheless, the silver lining of the trade was that it made him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league.

In the recent CTESPN podcast, the major part of the episode revolved around Tyreek Hill and how unapologetically he showcased his emotions. He wasn’t shy to be vulnerable in front of everyone. This led to one of the most anticipated answers which concerned the question asked by Antonio Brown about Hill’s move from the mighty Chiefs to the presiding Dolphins in 2022.
From the looks of it, while the 8x Pro Bowler seemed content with the shift, there were some aspects of leaving the Chiefs that left him with a chip on his shoulder. Hill calculated yet full of emotions response reflected, “I’m trying to figure out what emotion I had. It wasn’t upset feeling because if a m*f* about to dump a whole lot of money on you, why would you be upset? You supposed to be f*** joyful or, my emotion was probably more I would say…let down if anything, you feel me?” said the Cheetah.
This was in reaction to “How do you make up in your mind like, yo, I just want to leave the best team like I don’t want to be here no more?” put forward by Antonio Brown in an unpolished manner.
Hill did not end his admission there. He further added, “Because it was like a sense of okay m**f**, you can do whatever you want to over there in Kansas City. I don’t really know how to explain it was like that, it was like ok you can go do that, you want to go look for a trade…” But addressing the money problems, Tyreek Hill explained early how exactly he got traded to the Dolphins and why.

Remember the time when the Cheetah went on the I Am Athlete podcast? He laid the complete scenario and the ‘let down’ goes even deeper. He was assured by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid that the Chiefs are going to “take care of him,” but the opposite happened, and they didn’t think twice before bidding him goodbye.

“Pat called me first. Me and Pat get on the phone, ‘like Reek we’re going to take care of you bro.’ Then Andy called me, ‘Hey man, we’re going to take care of you.’ I said I’m cool with that. It can be $24 million as long as the money sounds right, $25 million as long as the guaranteed sounds right, that’s all I want. Their final offer was close to like $58 million, guaranteed,” said the WR.
After all this happened, Drew Rosenhaus, Hill’s agent concocted a plan that made him one of the richest wide receivers in the league as he got the offer from Miami Dolphins, who were willing to pay him $70 million. Another reason why Hill chose to move to Miami was because Florida does not have a state income tax, and it was Hill’s dream to play in Miami. By the looks of it, the lateral was a blessing in disguise for the receiver as he made the Dolphins one of the fastest offense in the league.
