” Y’all got to fix this s—, come on.” , “I’m out” Hill didn’t hold back in an interview following Miami’s loss against the Jets in week 18. While fans are questioning his future after the team’s 2024 season, another Dolphins star stepped up with a different opinion. Tyreek Hill made headlines by asking the team to “Add some motherf—— dogs in this b—-.” to the roster. After this outburst, will the front office listen, or will Hill’s frustrations become a bigger problem?

During his appearance on the ‘Up and Adams’ show hosted by Kay Adams, RB De’Von Achane gave a befitting reply to Tyreek’s comments, “We got dawgs….We just need more people to bring it out. I wouldn’t say we need more, as in like got to get other people. We know what we’re capable of.” The RB further added, “If we’re all on [the same page], I feel like we’re a hard team to beat”. Achane sees things differently from Hill, as he did not put their former loss on the team’s front office. He believed the team players should have rectified their errors.

Achane expressed, “It sucks that the season ended when we started getting it together. It’d helped if we figured it out earlier.” Although the 5’9″ RB didn’t buy Hill’s comment, we know where the latter’s frustration came from. Come on, Miami’s Week 18 loss officially knocked them out of playoff contention. Their struggles in 2024 weren’t just a twist of fate, they finished 8-9, marking their first losing season since 2019. On the other side, injuries were also an obstacle that could have been avoided with adequate protection. Miami’s star QB Tua Tagovailoa missed the two final games of the 2024 season due to a hip injury that almost required surgery. He sustained the said injury during Maimi’s week 15 game against the Houston Texans. And maybe, these situations added more to Hill’s growing frustration which was evident after their loss to the Jets.

Tyreek Hill later explained his previous reaction during a gaming livestream. “What y’all heard at the end of the season was frustration”. “I’ve been winning my whole life, bruh… I deserve to feel like that.” He wanted Miami’s front office to make real changes for the team to be a legitimate contender in the playoffs. If the front office doesn’t address these performance issues, it could lead to bigger problems afterward for their performance. Watching the 2024 season, Hill saw a drop from 1,799 receiving yards to just 959, and his six touchdowns tied a career low. Miami’s offense struggled to maintain consistency, hence ranked in the middle of the league in scoring and efficiency.

Miami is dealing with Offseason pressure

“We knew as a team that we dug ourselves in this hole,” Achane admitted his distress about the season’s performance, but he took accountability. Looking at Achane’s performance in his second season, he officially became the Dolphins’ top running back. While he didn’t quite make it to 1,000 rushing yards, finishing with 907. He still was a major factor in the passing game, hauling in 78 catches for 592 yards. We saw him confident even when the Miami offense struggled at times. When asked if 2,000 total yards was a realistic goal for next season, Achane didn’t hesitate to say “Why not?”

However, Tyreek Hill’s comments quickly became a hot topic for the fans, as some defended his passion, arguing that a player of his caliber has every right to demand more from his team, while others are putting unnecessary pressure. “I’ve been SHOUTING this from the rooftop for over a year now. When will the @MiamiDolphins wakeup? 🤔”, fans tweeted on X.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Tyreek Hill right to demand more 'dawgs,' or should the Dolphins focus on team unity?

Have an interesting take?

In their previous offseasons, the team has responded with aggressive roster moves, signing big-name free agents, making trades, and tweaking the coaching staff. Achane, 23, was Miami’s most consistent playmaker on offense, finishing the 2024 season with 592 receiving yards and 12 scoring TDs. But will they take the same approach now? Their next decision on whether to change or stick to a conservative strategy will say a lot about their long-term vision.

The Dolphins’ front office’s response to this situation might shape their 2025 season. If they make the right adjustments, strengthening the offensive line, adding depth to positions, and ensuring players have everything they need, they could turn frustration into motivation for a comeback. And maybe help Tyreek Hill play one more season with the Miami Dolphins.
