After a week of speculation, Miami Dolphins fans finally have their answer. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill will not play against the New York Jets. But that is not all. A Dolphins offense without Tyreek is a nightmare enough, but several other key players will also miss the game.

The Dolphins have a lengthy list of inactives at nine, as Ari Meirov revealed on Twitter. So, who are these nine players? And will the Dolphins team succeed regardless and cement their playoff chances?

During the pregame warmups, Tyreek didn’t show signs he would not be playing. And since he had returned during the final moments of the game in which he injured himself, fans had assumed he would be ready before the Jets game came along. But alas, that was not to be. He is the biggest name on the inactives’ list, but there are others.

On the Dolphins’ secondary, CB Xavien Howard (hip) and safety Jevon Holland (knee) will skip the game because of injuries. While they were recent additions, two more — Robert Hunt(hamstring) and DeShon Elliott (concussion) — had been ruled out much earlier. Center Connor Williams, tackle Isaiah Wynn, outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips, and running back Jerome Baker are the other inactives. The cause of the last three being inactive is unknown.

But the weakened Dolphins still have enough manpower to put Zach Wilson under pressure.

Zach Wilson struggles against weakened Dolphins

Ari Meirov took to X to share pictures from the game, which showed Zach Wilson being brutally tackled by Miami. While it’s still unclear if 4x NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers will return this season, looking at the physical attacks that Wilson is going through on the gridiron, it might be better if he only returns the next season after recovering completely.

At the end of the first half, the Dolphins had managed to secure a massive lead of 24 points, while the Jets were at nil. Wilson has his moments of greatness on the field, but the biggest complaint from the Jets fanbase is that he has not remained consistent with his performance. According to stats from FOX Sports, the Jets’ defense is in the top five in most metrics. However, if the first half of the game is anything to go by, they are no match for the Dolphins offense.
