Is Mike McDaniel right to defend Tua Tagovailoa, or should Tua consider retirement for his health?

The week 2 game between the Bills and the Dolphins has been in the news for another reason. Tua Tagovailoa‘s concussion! Since he was taken off the field, fans are guessing the extent of his injury. The worries stem from the fact that this is not the first concussion injury in his career. Rumors are rife that the QB might consider retirement, but HC Mike McDaniel has come out supporting his quarterback.

ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques reported that the coach asked the fans to be patient and let the player decide. McDaniel said, “The people and their opinions who matter most are Tua and his doctors. Dolphins do not have any other quarterback who can take the place of Tagovailoa. The coach understands that. The Phins’ planning during this whole off-season was centered around him. Unhappy with the recent development, McDaniel said, “I’m gonna plead with everybody that does genuinely care, that that (Tua’s career) should be the last thing on your mind.

The coach gave a big update that the QB wouldn’t be available for the week 3 game against the Seahawks. Understanding the situation and the need for calmness, McDaniel said, “It is very, very important that there aren’t added anxiety pushed onto him right now. He just needs to be.” For now, everyone is eagerly waiting to hear about an update.

However, the more problematic one was his week 16 concussion in 2022, which forced him to miss the remaining games. The Phins were forced to play without Tua Tagovailoa during the playoff against the Bills. They lost that game. And their Super Bowl hopes were crushed. This is the last thing Dolphins would want this year.

With such a setback early in the season, the signal caller is in the spotlight. But not for the reason he would have wanted. The team will be looking forward to the medical updates. Stay tuned for more!
