Chiefs failed to achieve the three-peat. It was a heartbreak for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The Eagles, led by Saquon Barkley and their MVP QB Jalen Hurts, just rolled over. The Caesars Superdome turned into a battlefield, where the NFL’s best went head-to-head. But one statement regarding Mahomes’s health issue hogged some attention before the game.

Just hours before the Super Bowl, there was a chatter about the Chiefs QB. And it all started with his personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe. In an interview with The Washington Post, Stroupe once mentioned, “Patrick is the most prolific sleeper in professional sports. He gets ten hours of sleep a night and naps all day.” And with Mahomes, nothing goes unnoticed. Now, people are reading into it.

Suddenly, Bobby’s comment had people overanalyzing it like a plot twist in a mystery novel. And, of course, the internet split into two camps. One side started playing doctor, tossing around theories about Mahomes and diabetes because sleeping a lot is a symptom. The other side kept it simple: the guy’s a pro athlete who trains like crazy, so yeah, he needs his rest. That’s just part of the job.

Although, there’s no word from Mahomes himself, and until there is, this is just a rumor. The guy trains hard every day, he has to. He’s one of the best QBs in the game, leading one of the top teams in the league. In the Super Bowl game, Mahomes had 3 touchdowns for 257 yards and completed 21 out of 32 passes. He looked fine in terms of health. But, this isn’t the first time rumors about Mahomes and diabetes have popped up.

It started back in 2022, and somehow, it always comes back when he’s in a big game. But here’s the deal, Mahomes is fine. The only health issue Mahomes had this season was that ankle injury against the Browns in December.

At Friday’s Super Bowl press conference, the Chiefs QB made it clear, his squad is ready. “I think guys are ready to go. Obviously, there’s a lot of buildup to the Super Bowl, and a lot of the guys have done it before, but you continue to focus on the details, you continue to work hard, and all this buildup makes you ready to go on Super Bowl Sunday.
