Does DeAndre Hopkins have a girlfriend?
To answer that question, we need to take a detour from the upcoming championship game and have to shift our gaze to Hopkins’ relationship history. The 32-year-old wide receiver started dating Australian rapper Iggy Azalea back in 2018. Azalea confirmed their relationship in an interview with Y100 Miami.
The couple’s relationship soon hit the headlines as they shared some funny banters on Social Media. In one of the instances, Hopkins called her legend. To which the rapper replied, “I could think of a few other things to call you.” Honestly, the relationship felt like someone scripted their relationship from the best rom-com ever. However, the script wasn’t that long, and the couple broke up soon after the announcement.
Fast forward to a couple of years, Hopkins started dating BreAnna Young in 2021. Spoiler alert: his second relationship had a better outcome than the previous one. The couple shared many precious moments of their time together. Whether it was enjoying on the vacations or having those beautiful dinner dates. To put it simply, Hopkins and Young were a perfect couple.
But the thing is, we never know what’s happening behind the beautiful scenes. The picture-perfect relationship came to a halt when Hopkins released a statement in September 2022 that he’d been single for two years. Despite the buzzing rumors of the couple being together even after, Young and Hopkins parted ways and started focusing on their careers.
Fast forward one more time, and according to reports, DeAndre Hopkins has remained single after splitting up with Young. So yes, the veteran wide receiver does not have a girlfriend or a wife currently, as he’s focusing on his career and his family.
Who are the Chiefs wide receiver’ parents?
Let’s shift our attention to Hopkins’ family. The WR was raised by his single mother, Sabrina G͏re͏enlee. When Hopkins was just five months old, he lost his father in a tragic car accident. Before passing away, his father, Steve Hopkins, was a flashy dresser and local kingpin in their South Carolina town.
Following her husband’s demise, Sabrina endured incredible hardship and raised Hopkins, along with his three siblings: Marcus Gre͏enlee, Kesha Smith, and Shanterria Cobb. The WR often credits his mom for his successful career and honors her by handing her the touchdown ball after each score. “My success belongs to my family, especially my mom,” he said, crediting his mom for his success.

But beyond losing her husband, Sabrina’s story is all about the insane strength she’s shown throughout her life. Back in 2002, Hopkins’ mom went through an unimaginable nightmare when a woman threw a mixture of lye and bleach on her. It left her with severe burns, peeling skin, and even blinded her. Due to her inability to watch her son play, Hopkins hands her the TD ball after every touchdown he scores.

She shared her struggles and triumphs in her memoir, Grant Me Vision: A Journey of Family, Faith, and Forgiveness. Despite a horrific attack by the woman, Sabrina forgave her and even prayed for her. Her journey of struggle and healing inspired her to establish SMOOOTH that stands for Speaking Mentally, Outwardly Opening Opportunities Toward Healing, a nonprofit assisting survivors of domestic violence.
Besides his professional career, DeAndre Hopkins has been a part of the SMOOOTH and even holds Back-to-school giveaway responsible for supplying necessary items to school kids. Though he never knew his father, one thing’s for sure: he was well-raised by her mom.
