What was that ‘Thursday Night Football’ between the Bears and the Seahawks? Well, you can say it was probably one of the most dull games played this season. A game with no real flair on either side finished in the favor of the Seahawks, who somehow kept their playoff hopes alive. On the day when neither team scored a TD in Windy City, it was the Seahawks who grabbed a season-saving 6-3 win.
Before entering Thursday’s clash, the Seahawks already had a 15% chance to make the playoffs. And that didn’t change even after getting an ugly win in Chicago. However, they still have some hope left to punch their postseason ticket as their receiver DK Metcalf gave his thoughts after their win, “I mean, it feels good, but we still got to take care of our end and focus on next week and winning against the Rams.”

But here’s the thing: A win over the Rams in week 18 might not be enough to guarantee a playoff spot for the Seahawks. To make it a little easier for you to understand, here’s a breakdown of what could happen. First of all, the Seahawks need to beat the Rams next week and pray they lose against the already-eliminated Cardinals. That result will be huge for the Seahawks’ ambition to reach the playoffs and probably clinch the NFC West title under the noses of the Rams.
Now, what if that scenario doesn’t play out? Then the Seahawks will have a bit of a problem. Rams winning against the Cardinals will give them an edge because of their head-to-head record with the Seahawks. Their 20-26 win in Seattle back in November could prove to be the fatal blow for the Seahawks. So don’t be surprised if you find Seattle cheering for the Cardinals, as they remain their only hope of making the playoffs.
While this game was somewhat interesting, some fans were bored to their skin. DK Metcalf’s physical altercation with Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson was one of the highlights of this year’s last Thursday Night Football.

DK Metcalf calls the physical altercation with Tyrique Stevenson “It’s football”
During the second quarter at Soldier Field, DK Metcalf and Tyrique Stevenson were captured shoving each other. When it seemed like the fight was slowing down, the tw0-time Pro Bowl decided to headbutt Stevenson. This made matters worse as the referees penalized the Seahawks receiver for unnecessary roughness. But the thing that caught everyone’s attention is that he wasn’t ejected for that possible violent conduct.
Now, after the game, when Metcalf was asked to offer his thoughts on the feud with Stevenson, he said, ” It’s football. It’s a physical sport. Some chippiness is gonna happen. Especially when I’m out there.” Well, Metcalf has a bit of a history of altercations in the NFL. Last season, he was fined five times for unnecessary roughness, unsportsmanlike conduct, and blindside block violations. However, this season, he is trying to keep his emotions in check, “I’m a grown man. My emotions are in check. Like I said. It’s a physical game out there. Especially when I’m out there. I’m gonna test the DB.”

Metcalf still remains a bit notorious for his gridiron activities besides scoring TDs and receiving passes. He had already found himself fined $11,255 in week 5 against the Giants. Seeing how he handled himself against the Bears, Seattle would be hoping their Pro Bowl wideout keeps his cool as they prepare for a nail-biter against the Rams in week 18.
