The 2024 season was straight-up an L for the Rams. No playoffs, injuries everywhere, and the vibes were just off all year. Matthew Stafford? Dude had a rough go too, carrying the squad while dealing with his own struggles. But now that the season’s over, Stafford’s clocked out of NFL mode and is just vibing with his fam.

Kelly Stafford dropped a wholesome story on Insta, giving us a look at her husband in full-on dad mode. The guy was out here flipping burgers and fries for their four daughters, and let me tell you, the kids were hyped. They were clapping and saying stuff like “very good” and “really good.” Kelly hit us with the caption: “Off-season Chef Matthew 😍.” Safe to say, Stafford’s thriving in his off-season soft launch.

But don’t get it twisted—there’s some tea brewing. After the Rams got bounced by the Eagles in the playoffs (28-22, if you care), Sean McVay dodged every question about Stafford’s return. His exact words? “I’m not really interested in talking about anything as it relates to next year.” Big yikes. It’s giving ‘We’re not sure we want him back,’ kinda energy and fans are already side-eyeing the situation.

And Stafford? Man’s not exactly clearing things up. He’s been quiet about his next move, ‘saying he needs time to figure it out.’ Even though he popped off in that playoff game (324 yards, two touchdowns), the guy’s about to hit 37 and knows he’s got some tough calls to make. All this silence has people thinking Stafford’s not exactly feeling the Rams’ energy right now. But, he made his stance crystal clear or we can say an early opinion?

Is the hope for Stafford’s Rams still lit?

Alright, let’s not sugarcoat it—Matthew Stafford has been that guy for the Rams, even when the team was struggling hard. Starting 1-4? Total disaster vibes. But Stafford didn’t fold. He dragged them to an NFC West title and straight-up smashed the Vikings in the Wild Card. Yeah, their playoff run got iced in Philly (shoutout to that 28-22 loss to the Eagles), but Stafford showed up and balled out when it mattered.

And here’s the wild part—Stafford was out there playing with four cracked ribs. FOUR. This dude got rocked in Week 15 against the 49ers but still kept grinding. He put up 324 passing yards and two TDs in the Divisional Round with no picks and a clean 97.2 passer rating. Talk about being built different.

After the loss, everyone was in his ear like, ‘So, retirement or nah?‘ Stafford wasn’t even sweating it. He was like, “It’s 30 minutes after the game, I’ll think about it, but I feel like I was playing some pretty good ball.” And when they asked if he’s still got it, he hit ’em with, “Sure feels like it,” and a sly smile. The confidence is chef’s kiss.

For real! The Rams are blessed to have this guy. He’s been carrying them, even when the team’s been mid. If they lose him—to retirement or another squad—they’re gonna be cooked. No playoffs, no hope, nada. Stafford’s still got that dawg in him, and the Rams better do everything they can to keep him in L.A.
