With only three wins in their column, Kevin Stefanski‘s squad ended the season with yet another loss. The Ravens took down their divisional rivals 35-10, locking in the AFC North. While Lamar Jackson and Co. celebrated, Browns DE Myles Garrett couldn’t deliver on his pre-game promise. He cleared some air about his future after the game.

Some reports were going around saying that Myles Garrett and the Browns management had a chat about the team’s plans with him. Anyway, it got fans wondering what it could be about. But after the game, Garrett set the record straight, calling it “untrue” and said, I haven’t had any conversations about knowing any of that yet I left that to the off-season which I mean starting today so we’ll have our exit meetings.” He gave a stern response to all the rumors. Well, now that the season is over for them, they have plenty of time for those talks.

Before the game, Garrett had plans to ruin the Ravens’ playoff hopes. He was confident and all in on messing with Lamar Jackson, as he claimed, “I’d rather upset and mess up their playoff hopes. And if the sack title comes along with that, great. Definitely going to do what I can to be disruptive and take out (Lamar Jackson) of the game as much as possible.” But let’s be real here. We’re talking about Mr. Jackson. The Ravens didn’t make that strong comeback by chance. Their QB has been explosive on the field. Taking him down? Come on, the guy’s on a whole different level.

Garrett’s promise didn’t go as planned, just like the team’s season. Feeling disappointed, the DE opened up about the team’s expectations.

Myles Garrett talks about failing to meet expectations after disappointing end

Have you folks heard about Murphy’s Law? ‘Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong?‘ That’s exactly what happened with the Browns this season. And Myles Garrett isn’t too happy about the terrible season. Talking about the Browns‘ front office expectations, Garrett said, “I mean the standards have been set from the year before so the hopes and expectations were you know hinging on that you know we see what we had in the building and uh we had we had really developed something and we took a step or two back.”

What’s your perspective on:

Did Myles Garrett overpromise, or did the Browns just underdeliver this season?

The 29-year-old also opened up about how the season hit them emotionally. Myles admitted it was tough on everyone, and said it’s important to take a step back and shake off that emotional weight so they can come back strong next season. The media also asked about the team’s guard, Joel Bitonio. Reporters were curious to know if Joel was considering retiring after this season. ” I think that’s the best way to you know decide with anything and make sure you um remove yourself from you know the situation and try to look at it objectively know not just look at it emotionally,” answered the DE.

Taking a loss can be tough. And you could see the frustration and sadness on Myles Garrett’s face while he was talking to the media. But at this point, there’s not much you can do except hope that next season will be better for them.
