“I’m ready.” Josh Allen said, sounding as if he was fully prepared to lead his Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl. However, later in the Sunday’s game, things turned upside down for them. Allen & his Buffalo Bills’s season came to an end after they were defeated in the AFC Conference Championship by the Kansas City Chiefs, 32-29. This heartbreak has devastated the Bills Mafia and the entire franchise, leading the potential MVP to recall his and his team’s failure.
After clearing the locker room on Monday, Josh Allen appeared in front of the media to revisit their loss. During this, he reflected on the end of the season with a sense of pride and disappointment. The 28-year-old expressed, “I’ve said this every year. It’s 31 unhappy teams, but I will say this about our team, emphasis on team, I think this is one of the more special units I’ve ever been around in my entire life.” He even went back to his Pop Warner, high school, and college days.
While further praising his team, he said that the players there genuinely care for one another. And that they fully understand their roles and responsibilities. Josh Allen even recalled that from the start of the training camp, there was a strong belief within the team. The belief that they worked on tirelessly to reach the point they did.

But Josh Allen admitted the reality of facing a team like the Chiefs, who have perfected winning over the years. He said, “We’re constantly knocking at the door and when you’re playing a team like the Chiefs, who have done it so well for so long, you gotta not just knock, you got to kick the door down and we didn’t do that.” Well, no doubt Josh Allen and his team did extremely well this season with just 4 losses in the regular games. Even reaching the AFC Championship after knocking down the strong Ravens, the Bills have surely enhanced their name.
However, as Josh Allen said, “it’s 31 unhappy teams,” in the end, and the Bills are one among this group. But, he promised to come back stronger the next season: “Even through all the hurt and disappointment they’ve had to endure, really for the entirety of the existence of the Buffalo Bills, we’re going to continue to turn every stone over. Cross the t’s, dot the i’s and do whatever we can to try to bring a Lombardi back here to Western New York.”
We’ll see how much stronger the Bills return in the 2025 season. Until then, Josh Allen is doing anything to protect his team, especially Dalton Kincaid.
Josh Allen or Dalton Kincaid: whose fault was it anyway?
From the Bills’ 47-yard line, on fourth-and-5, when only two minutes were remaining with the Chiefs leading 32-29, the Arrowhead stadium could feel the stress. It was because, under pressure from a corner blitz, Josh Allen lobbed a pass to Dalton Kincaid around the Chiefs’ 35. However, the football hit the ground, just slipping out of the diving TE’s grasp. This moment helped the Chiefs to capitalize and see out the game. They didn’t allow Allen to touch the ball again, leading themselves to the Super Bowl.
However, for Kincaid, the day got tougher as he faced a heavy backlash from the Bills Mafia. Josh Allen stepped up to save his teammate from online haters. During a post-game presser, the quarterback said, “I got to be better for him. I didn’t feel like I put him in enough good situations this year, (foot)ball-placement-wise. … He can sit there and think about that play over and over, but I got to be better for him.”

And guess what? Like a true leader, Josh Allen didn’t stop there. He praised Dalton Kincaid’s grit, calling him tough as nails. The QB expressed, “I know he’s been battling throughout the entire year, bumps and bruises and probably games that he shouldn’t have played he was in….I got nothing but love for him, how he’s approached this year. He’s going to be so much better next year. Let his body heal up, and I’m going to be better, better for him, and I can promise you that.”
According to ESPN, Dalton Kincaid has been suffering from a torn PCL in one of his knees, and fluid in his other knee. Despite that, the TE showed up week after week, finishing off the regular season by catching 44 passes for 448 yards and 2 TDs. As the Bills have often tweeted, this is one of those occasions to “Choose Love”.
