DeVonta Smith, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ wide receiver, is a dynamic player on the field. His skills, dashes, and plays have always wowed football fans. But, you know what? These great plays are not only the consequence of his hard effort, but they are also in his genes. Perhaps you are aware that, while he is the center of attention in his family, he is not the only athlete. Smith has one brother who is on a similar route. But, who is this man?
Who is DeVonta Smith’s brother?
Christian Smith is DeVonta Smith’s brother. He is a running back for Amite High School (La.), and has committed to participate in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl, which is in its fifth year! Smith was a first-team All-District running back as well as the defensive MVP of the district. He also competed for Amite in the 2021 2A state tournament.

As the younger Smith has said, “Playing in this All-Star game gives me a chance to showcase my abilities to college coaches around the world and gives me another chance to play one more high school game.”
Given that Smith’s younger brother, Christian Smith, also plays high school football in Amite, it is obvious that the football gene runs in the family. He can play outside linebacker as well as running back, according to his Hudl profile, and he plans to graduate in 2024.

How is the bond between the football brothers?
Well, you already could have imagined that if two brothers play football they usually will be competitive. But in the case of the Smith brothers, something is different. DeVonta Smith said in an interview that his brother Christian never liked to be compared to the elder smith, “He understands it himself. People call him my little brother, he doesn’t like it,” he added. “He made it easier for me because he already understood that he’s not ‘DeVonta’ little brother, he’s Christian.”

In their childhood days, DeVonta Smith would typically outplay his mother’s cautions because he had one of the best balls at the park on most days. Occasionally, he would argue with his younger brother in their little home, shoving hands and slamming into one another over video games.

As the Smith brothers grew up, the younger one was highly influenced by his elder brother. In an interview, Christian Smith said, “What I’ve learned from my brother is that it doesn’t matter how tall or how small you are, anything is possible.”
The Smith brothers’ bond, rooted in mutual respect and inspiration, drives both DeVonta Smith’s NFL success and Christian’s burgeoning football career, highlighting the power of sibling influence in athletics.
