What’s Aaron Rodgers’ claim to fame? Is it his Super Bowl championship or 4 MVPs? Or is it the fact that he’s been the six-time leader in lower pass interception rate throughout his career? If it’s about the interceptions, you might want to reevaluate his trajectory to a fameworthy career.
Yes, Aaron Rodgers is 12-10 in the postseason but there’s a catch. He failed to succeed where it mattered the most, the NFC Championship games. Throughout his career, Rodgers has thrown 9 touchdowns in NFC Championship games with 8 interceptions, which takes away from some of his credibility. However, Chris Broussard pegs him to lead the Jets to the playoffs this year.
“Aaron Rodgers’ claim to fame as an all-time great quarterback is he doesn’t throw interceptions”, said Broussard on First Things First and added, “Why all of a sudden in conference championship games are you throwing interceptions at the time? 9-8, that tells me that’s mental, there’s something wrong.” But there’s something Broussard pointed out that might make people wonder if A-Rod is “all that” when it comes to post season.

Let’s go back to Aaron Rodgers’ Super Bowl winning season. The Bears-Packers rivalry is perhaps one of the most storied ones in the NFL and in the 2010 post season NFC Championship game against the Bears, Rodgers couldn’t throw a single touchdown. Instead, he was intercepted twice! The Packers did it without relying on A-Rod’s passing game.
But stats don’t paint the real picture, do they? You had to be there to understand the circumstances. One of the most captivating moments of the game came when Rodgers threw a pick six to Brian Urlacher, but chased him down and stopped him just in the nick of time at Bears 45. Another viral moment from the game was BJ Raji’s pick six leading to a touchdown.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Aaron Rodgers really lead the Jets to the playoffs, or is this just wishful thinking?

Though Urlacher getting a pick six was a bad read on Rodgers’ part, the other interception was a fluke. That happened when Lance Briggs intercepted the pass intended for Donald Driver. The point is, a game from a decade ago can be long forgotten and just observed through a lens of stats, which is not how it should be in most cases.
Maybe Chris Broussard understands it and is still betting on Aaron Rodgers to put the Jets in a comfortable spot in the AFC East this season.
Chris Broussard banks of Aaron Rodgers and Jets’ odds to have a breakout season
So, what are the odds that the Jets will be the leaders of the AFC East? When you have Josh Allen, Tua Tagovailoa to beat, there might be some peaks and valleys that Aaron Rodgers might have to overcome. But Broussard has one specific condition under which the New York Jets can dominate the division.

Broussard already dubbed the Jets “second tier Super Bowl contenders” given that Davante Adams joins the Jets (which is not happening), but there are some other things at play that might lead the Jets to be lucky this season. So why does Broussard think the Jets are winning the division?
“Buckle up! Assuming health, J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!” said Broussard and added, “Is there a championship game in the regular season? He’ll be fine in the regular season. I’m not saying he’s going to be MVP. I think he’s going to somewhere between the last year’s Green Bay and MVP Aaron Rodgers.”
Speaking about health, the offense has taken some hits in the last season. Apart from Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall put up a 994-yard season without Aaron Rodgers at Quarterback but is listed as “questionable.” Garrett Wilson did a stupendous job with a 1,000+yard season with Zach Wilson at quarterback.

They also added Mike Williams to the roster, and he plays well when he’s healthy. The veteran played 3 games last season because of an ACL tear he sustained. So, the Jets might have a legitimate shot this season. If you’re still not convinced, Pro Football Network ranked Jets’ defense as No. 1 this season with players like Haason Reddick and Sauce Gardner as the dominant figures.
The Jets even beat the Browns and the Steelers when it came to defense, at least on paper they did. As Broussard pointed out, if everyone stays healthy, the Jets might top the division and even go to the playoffs this year.
