Is Aaron Rodgers risking too much for the Jets, or is this just a rough patch?

Two interception throws in the initial 15 minutes and sacked thrice. Does this sound like a game featuring Aaron Rodgers? Alas! This became true. But wait. There is a silver lining in this gloomy picture too. The veteran New York Jets QB still made his mark on the Week 5 game even after a miserable fall.

Aaron Rodgers hit a personal landmark in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in London. He is now the ninth player in NFL history with over 60,000 passing yards. He touched this milestone on a throw to TE Tyler Conklin in the third quarter. The leading player in this record is Tom Brady with 89,214 passing yards. However, the Jets were forced to punt a play after Conklin’s catch.

A-Rod seemed to be sloppy on the field. Yes, he achieved this landmark. But he was mere 96 yards away from it prior to the game. Despite the Jets’ win or loss, this was certainly on the cards. Rodgers also picked some black feathers for his cap as well. He threw his career’s 5th pick-6, ruining his own record. So what can be the best possible reason for this sloppiness? Is Rodgers fully fit or is he risking his health to carry the weight of the Jets fans’ expectations?

Rodgers was holding his knee. Is this an injury scare?

The Gang Green was sloppy from the start of the game. QB Rodgers was also slow during his every move. The Minnesota Vikings sacked the Jet’s QB thrice. And all three looked like catching a teddy bear for the Vikes. It seemed like A-Rods was barely moving on the field.

Not just that. His throws were sloppy too. At 2:18 to the 1st quarter, Rodgers passed a short right which was intended for Garrett Wilson. But it got intercepted by Van Ginkel. In the same quarter, he threw a pass deep middle intended for Allen Lazard, which was now intercepted by Camryn Bynum. Was this slowness an age factor or an underlying injury?

During the game, Rodgers’ left knee got twisted up under the defender. He was seen grabbing at his left knee after this hit, but walked off on his own. There was a concern for an MCL sprain, and his ankle was pinned underneath, too. Though he returned for the game, this has raised a few eyebrows as well.
