As kids, a lot of the things that we see and hear are directly responsible for molding us into who we are today. Looking back into the glory days, television had a unique appeal. Although people have different ways of amusing themselves in this era, things were different about a decade or two ago. Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce have a lot of memories with television, especially ESPN.

The Kelce brothers hop on the New Heights Podcast, take a trip back in time, and talk about their favorite people to watch on ESPN. Did you know that the Kelce boys are huge baseball fans? They reminisce about the glory days of ESPN and how it changed their futures for the better.

The video starts with Travis Kelce admitting how ESPN, back in the day, was something that excited the brothers. Mark McGuire and Sany Sosa did their job in such a way that sports became a fun thing for the Kelce brothers. This is where the Kelce brothers get their love of sports from.

“I owe a lot of my love for sports to ESPN and how they went about their business, man, but those f***** Mark McGuire and Sany Sosa days, man, damn, baseball just hasn’t been the same,” Travis Kelce said about the old days.

Disney, which owns ESPN, laid off 7,000 employees across all the platforms. ESPN also took a significant hit after about 20 on-air key talent were laid off in late June. ESPN laid off Jeff Van Gundy, who used to call for the NBA finals in the last two decades. Not only this, but they also fired Mark Jackson.

All these measures come as a contingency plan for cost-cutting and other issues the company is dealing with. Some others who were laid off include Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, and Nick Friedell. Suzy Kolber worked for ESPN for 27 years before being laid off. Things must have really become desperate for the broadcasting agencies.
