Is Stephen A. Smith right to back Russell Wilson despite Justin Fields' standout performances?

One of the most heated debates this week has been about who will be the Steelers quarterback. It is well known that the club management is perplexed by Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Where one player is in form and gave a good performance in the preseason, whilst the other one just has too much experience to be dropped. Every sports analyst is discussing this topic, and it appears that one of them has offered his own point of view, which may have been reasonable.

We’re talking about Stephen A. Smith, one of ESPN’s most prominent analysts, who recently favored Wilson in this circumstance. The number 3 has proved himself in two different teams throughout his career. As a result of this, everyone is curious about how he would handle himself in a new team like Steelers. Every eye is on the next move the experienced QB will make with this team. Smith has also claimed that he wants Russell Wilson to play at least one game for the Steelers so that his true potential with the team may be realized. Furthermore, if things do not work out, Fields may easily step in to replace him.

The analyst stated, “I think they should go with [Russell] Wilson. [Justin] Fields is the future, we all know this. But I want to see what Russell Wilson does in the Steelers uniform…I don’t mind if you go back to Fields, but I want to see Russell Wilson in a Steelers uniform, and let’s see what he does, especially after this kind of showing from Justin Fields. Six field goals.” Based on all of the speculation and comments, it appears like whenever Wilson is back, the Steelers will be overly concerned with who they will pick as their quarterback.
