The Packers proved that they made the right decision when they picked Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft pick. The last game against the Kansas City Chiefs was a wakeup call for the Chiefs and the world saw what Love was really capable of. The final 27-19 score made the Packers the underdogs that they are.
At the time J Love was drafted by the Packers, Aaron Rodgers was publicly upset with the Packers’ GM’s decision. However, the reason for the upset might not have been Love at the time, but it sure felt like it. Now after all these years, it’s apparent that the choice to draft Jordan Love was a correct one. The whole NFL has hopped on the Jordan Love bandwagon and rightfully so. A video tweet from Tom Pelissero dives deep into the saga of J Love.

People had misgivings about him, especially Aaron Rodgers. But that was because the Packers decided to draft a QB and not a receiver that A-Rod can play with and increase the team’s chances of making it to the playoffs. Love was dubbed as the ‘bright young rising star of the game’. One of the hosts pointed out that J-Love used to get the wrong kind of attention a couple of months ago and people didn’t believe in him as a franchise QB.

Earlier, the media, the fans, and even A-Rod used to think that drafting the now Packers QB1 was a huge mistake and the GM Brian Gutekunst should have done a better job of choosing the right players, but now it seems like his decisions were correct for the long run. Per Pelissero, Jordan Love inspires enough confidence, and he might even become a franchise QB for the Packers in the future.
The Packers still have a couple of games to go before the playoffs start. They are in the seed for sure but winning the next couple of games is paramount for this Green Bay team as it will decide the future of this Wisconsin team. Jordan Love, in his 11 games has stats very similar to what A-Rod had in his first 11 games in his rookie year. Maybe Love is headed for legacy and the Packers now already have a franchise QB, but they don’t know it yet.
