Is Jerry Jones' stubbornness hurting the Cowboys more than helping them this season?

The Cowboys and their struggles! It’s a never-ending story. During their week 4 matchup against the Giants, they won the contest. But also lost some! Yes, DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons sustained leg injuries. Parsons is expected to return by week 7 while Lawrence is set to be put on the Injured Reserve (IR) List. Since the players got injured, everyone was wondering if Jerry Jones would trade in some talent.

He gave answers to all those popping questions. During his recent appearance on the 105.3 The Fan, Jones said, “We’re fortunate to have these young guys to step up here.” It’s clear now that the replacements will be picked up from the inside. David Moore of Dallas Morning News reported that Carl Lawson will be picked up. Marshawn Kneeland has already been added to the 53-man roster.

There’s good news too! Their rookie star Caelan Carson has recovered from a shoulder injury. Stephen Jones, Cowboys executive vice president, CEO, and director of player personnel, revealed that he is ready to go all-in against the Steelers in the week 5 matchup. A veteran’s comeback might also be in the cards.

Though DaRon Bland is making good progress, Jerry Jones‘ son claimed that he still needs more time. The DE is on the IR list, and doing well in practice. Even that’s great news for the sulking America’s team, which needs more strength in their defense.

The game against the Steelers wouldn’t be easy.

What’s going on with the injured players of Jerry Jones’ team?

Have an interesting take?

Linebacker Parsons doesn’t want to sit idle. He knows that there are only 17 chances, and it’s frustrating for him to miss games because of the injury. Revealing his desire to play on the 6th of October against Steelers, Parsons said, “I feel like I want to play on Sunday. If I can play, I will play, you know. To me, as long as I can run and move how I move, I want to play.” Jerry Jones must be impressed by his dedication.

Lineman Lawrence is diagnosed with a Lis franc injury in his right foot. That’s more challenging. Once he gets put on the IR list, expect him to miss the next 4 games. That’s a return in week 9. If he gets fit. But even that has a silver lining. He wouldn’t need a surgery.

Jerry Jones is expecting his team to win the games. When Dak Prescott injured his thumb in 2022, the replacement QB Cooper Rush won 4 out of 5 games. That’s what the owner is still expecting. That his practice squad players will stop the rivals’ offense.
