“I had him at a young age, and it made me grow up,” said Randi Mahomes, the mother of the Chiefs’ QB, to PEOPLE magazine some time back. Her reflections on motherhood shed light on the challenges she faced as a young mother.

Back in 2021, Randi had expressed regret over the time missed with her children due to her demanding work schedule in the ‘Kent Hance – The Best Storyteller in Texas,’ podcast. “I think they deserve everything and I worked two jobs for about 10 years and I wish I would have only worked one and not give them as much stuff,” she reflected, a sentiment echoed by many single parents who juggle work and family life.

“I would work nights and weekends and I wish I would have given up that second job and the money that helped provide for them. I just wish I would have just lived a little less,” Randi expressed candidly. Her work ethic and the values she instilled in her children are evident in her role as an event planner and her spiritual influence. Her story is a testament to the 86% of single-parent families in the U.S. led by mothers, often without adequate support as reported by Thee ‘Single Parents Project’

Randi Mahomes and Pat Mahomes Sr. share a history that intertwines love, sports, and family. Their marriage, which lasted until 2006, was blessed with two sons, Patrick and Jackson, and later, grandchildren Sterling Skye and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

Patrick maintains a focus on family, describing his father’s situation as a private matter and expressing his well-being.“I don’t really want to get into it too much, but he’s doing good for whatever the situation is,” Patrick told reporters last year. “It’s a family matter. I’ll just keep it to the family, and that’s all I really have to say at this point.”

As Mahomes led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in 2024, his family, including Randi and Pat Mahomes Sr, was there to celebrate his MVP achievement. The family’s support extends beyond the field, with Randi and Pat frequently seen cheering on Patrick during his milestone moments, even from the early days of his interest in the game of football.
