Is Nick Sirianni the leader the Eagles need, despite the apparent disconnect with Jalen Hurts?

After hanging his boots, Jason Kelce has taken a hard look this year at the NFL industry from the outside. The former NFL player became a sports analyst and talked about many great aspects of the game. He most recently appeared on Thursday’s 94WIP Morning Show alongside Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. There, he praised the importance of head coaches and especially mentioned the Eagles’ head coach, Nick Sirianni, along with some more names.

According to Jason Kelce, a coach serves as an indirect leader for the entire team. Not only that, he claimed that the team is always dependent on the coach, and if the right person is picked for this position, no one can stop that team. Kelce exclaimed, “The reality is there is a mold where, as a head coach, you are really an organizational leadership linchpin.” The former NFL player did not stop there, going on to provide instances of good coaches in his opinion. He mentioned that Dan Campbell and John Harbaugh are two prominent figures in the industry right now.

Later, Jason Kelce even mentioned Nick Sirianni and how terrific he is. Sirianni is now performing well as head coach of the Eagles, and the squad has fared admirably during his term. Kelce has witnessed this and believes that a coach should be pleasant and develop a relationship with his squad.

Sirianni has all of these traits, and despite the drama he had with Jalen Hurts last year, they are both now doing well. A relationship between the quarterback and the head coach is critical for the team because if these two think the same way throughout the game, the team can win even if they are losing. On this matter, Kelce stated, “Their main job is to steer the team in the right direction…He’s a great communicator, he really is.”

Not only did Kelce appreciate Sirianni, but he also talked about another coach who he believes had great potential.

When the aforementioned chat was going on, the Big Yeti even mentioned Pete Carroll. Kelce showed a lot of respect for Carroll and even considered him as one of the NFL’s top coaches to ever enter the industry. Not only that, but he added that while he hadn’t seen much of Carroll’s tenure, the amount that he saw was too good. Kelce claimed that the man had the perfect leadership quality, which is much needed in a head coach.

Jason Kelce didn’t stop there, saying Carroll has the ability to elevate a team that can be even average. The former player stated, “We saw that I think a little bit with Pete Carroll a little bit throughout the years…It’s tough to know what all the other coaches do.” It will be interesting to see the performance of the Seattle Seahawks going forward, as this appreciation of their former coach will give them a boost.
