Can Aaron Rodgers' family issues justify his stance on not having children? What's your take?

Aaron Rodgers, the Jets QB, is well known for his controversies. He has been trolled for various issues, like misleading information about his COVID report, his feud with American television host Jimmy Kimmel, and silly comments on serious matters. Now, New York Times bestselling sports biographer, Ian O’Connor, has written a book hoping to improve Rodgers’ image. This book aims to show “the real him” and help people understand who he really is.

However, what grabbed the most attention was Ian O’Connor revealing that Aaron Rodgers wants to have children. He said it on August 21 while giving insights into his book, on a podcast with Ross Tucker. “He wants to be a father, and that’s the next stage of his life, his fatherhood.” Some family members believe that if Rodgers had kids already, maybe the issues with his family would have been resolved by now. O’Connor also mentioned, “Aaron is good with kids,” and he heard this from Rodgers’ family and friends.

Aaron Rodgers has had long-standing issues with his parents. He hasn’t seen them since 2014. In “Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers” by Ian O’Connor, it’s revealed that the trouble began with his relationship with actress Olivia Munn. Rodgers hasn’t spoken to his family for 8 years and has been estranged from them. According to Bleacher Report, the drift is so big, that he returned his parents’ Christmas gift in 2016.

However, this is just one side of him. In 2020, the Green Bay Packers QB went to Peru to try ayahuasca and almost got stuck as the pandemic hit. He’s talked a lot about his love for retreats, like yoga and meditation. When he recently announced he was going on a four-night darkness retreat, it sparked a lot of online chatter, both positive and negative. This is one of the reasons the book is named “Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers.”

If you’re a big fan of A-Rod, this book could be your go-to for getting the scoop on his personal life. It tackles all those burning questions we have about one of the most talked-about figures in sports. But is the book unauthorized? And what does Aaron Rodgers think about it?

O’Connor calls the book “unauthorized,” but he did get some access to Rodgers, and his comments are in there. Aaron, though, isn’t thrilled with what’s written, even if it’s not the main focus. “Had access to him for two hours in February and that was it. He was not going to talk to me again. I tried to re-engage with him. It didn’t work.” However, the author still got a chance to discuss the famous rumors and the family drama.

Back in 2013, the New York Jets quarterback made waves when he said he “really, really” liked women, addressing rumors about his dating life during his Green Bay Packers days. Over ten years later, he’s speaking out again, explaining why those rumors bothered him so much. “I think I was upset at the framing [of the rumor] because it was meant to shame the idea of being gay, and I have so many friends that are gay in the community.” Rodgers shared in this book, and he is happy to clear it out.
