Kyler Murray and Greg Dortch are bonding well! In March, wide receiver Greg Dortch tweeted that he’s “more motivated than ever.” And then in the next month, he finally made his return to the Arizona Cardinals officially by signing his one-year exclusive rights tender.
The Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has trust in his wide receiver. In a recent press conference of 2024 of the Arizona Cardinals, Kyler Murray talked to reporters about the offseason and his aim to win the Super Bowl. When asked about what are the underrated parts of Dortch’s game, Murray replied, “I feel like Dortch is unguardable. One-on-one knowing where to be in the zones, he’s just got that.”
The quarterback emphasized that Dortch has a unique understanding and skillset that not many receivers possess. Despite blaming Dortch’s genetics, he highly praised the professional. Murray remarked, “He’s 5’ 7, like if he was 6’ 3, he would have been a top-five pick. That is what I think. The type of football player that he is and again he loves the game so I can go to war with Greg everyday.”

As Murray visualizes the dream of winning the Super Bowl, especially with Dortch and his uncommon, great skills, all eyes will be on the returnee this time, who can add valuable contributions to the wins. Now, it remains to be seen whether he is able to live up to his quarterback’s trust or not. Nevertheless, Dortch is ready for the battle and is loving his bond with the QB.

Will Greg Dortch become the support the Cardinals need?
With Rondale Moore leaving the team, Dortch now has a chance to secure the slot receiver position. He feels confident about his strong connection with quarterback Kyler Murray, which has grown over the years through practice and game experience. Dortch highlighted this trust during a recent interview, expressing, “The trust is there, and that makes me feel really good. Just being implemented more in this offense, it’s exciting for me. It’s something that I’ve worked tremendously hard to honestly get here in the first place and like I said before I’m excited for the season to roll around.”
Last season, after Murray returned from an ACL rehab and Hollywood Brown dealt with a foot injury, Dortch’s role in the offense increased significantly. Before week 10, he had minimal stats, but by the end of the season, he had 24 receptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Dortch’s ability to make explosive plays, such as notable touchdowns against the Bears (38-yard touchdown catch) and a key reception (7-yard gain) against the Eagles, will be vital in 2024.
