In a recent episode of The Rush podcast hosted by Maxx Crosby, former Pats’ wide receiver Julian Edelman shared his thoughts on why Patriots legend Bill Belichick is considered the greatest coach of all time, despite his reputation for being ‘cold’.

Edelman reflected on his time playing under Belichick and emphasized that while the coach’s demeanor may seem distant to outsiders, he demonstrated his love and support for the team in his unique way. He highlighted Belichick’s attention to detail and his relentless pursuit of excellence as key factors that contributed to his success as a coach.

Julian Edelman’s insights on Bill’s unique coaching style

Julian Edelman said, “He showed love in in different ways it it’s very cold love you know“. Despite Belichick’s reserved nature, the 37-year-old praised him for his ability to show appreciation for good plays. He said, “he would show some good play of what you did if you knew you know of something in front of the whole team, uh Bill Bill is the best coach of all time.”

The former WR also recalled instances where Belichick’s coaching capability was evident, particularly in his meticulous preparation for games. He said, “there wasn’t a game that went into where i didn’t, feel like we were underprepared”. Julian Edelman further shared how Bill always knew what was going to happen, even if the team was skeptical. “We come in we all are all right it ain’t going to happen whatever. We come in on Monday film, and it happened. And it happened a lot,” said Edelman.

And Edelman is not the only player who feels this way. Lots of players who have worked with Belichick have huge respect for the legendary coach.

Bill Belichick: Loved by the Pats!

Tom Brady, who played under Belichick for many years, called him “the best coach in the history of the NFL” and said he learned a lot from him. Brady also mentioned that even when things got tough, Belichick always pushed them to keep going and do their best. Rob Gronkowski also chimed in on the HC’s departure from the Pats. He said, “It was very sad to see Coach Belichick go, because there wouldn’t have been a dynasty, there wouldn’t have been 20-plus years of a winning culture without Coach Belichick. He set the standard.” Gronkowski even admitted he shed a tear, showing just how much Belichick meant to him and the team.

Despite his reserved personality, Belichick’s knowledge of the game is considered being the best. He’s been coaching for a long time and won many championships with the Patriots. As he left the Patriots after 24 seasons, his impact on the team and the sport of football is nothing short of a legacy that will be penned down in the annals of NFL history.
