Emotions tend to run high during NFL games, and Travis Kelce doesn’t seem to be the perfect person to approach for emotion management. If you are a long-term fan of the league, you would know the antics that Kelce has often engaged in on the field. It’s stuff like this that may make you doubt whether Kelce is a levelheaded person in real life and a Modern Family star is here to challenge your view.
Eric Stonestreet, who played Cam Tucker in the beloved American sitcom Modern Family, is a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He owns up to his fandom on better days or worse by publicly associating him with the Super Bowl champions.
In a recent interview with Graham Bensinger, Eric was pretty vocal about his liking for the superstar tight end of his favorite football team. The topic got kicked off when the interviewer asked him to give his two cents on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship. Eric couldn’t help but say, “I’m happy for both of them. Doesn’t it just seem like they’re perfect for each other?”

“I see him as such a good, quality human being based on how he treats those around him,” added the former sitcom actor. “He is who he is, and he’s so confident in himself and a quality, funny guy.” Eric Stonestreet believes that it would take a lot of confidence and sense of personal security for a man to be with a successful and popular woman like Taylor Swift. He hence believes that Travis Kelce is the perfect match for her.
Eric seems to have good knowledge about the sport because even in Modern Family, he was a passionate high school football coach. It wouldn’t be shocking if being a part of the Chiefs Kingdom is what gave him this fever in the first place. But despite his perfect view on the TE, Kelce does have some flaws that have come out in public before.
Travis Kelce’s tantrums are common in the NFL
Pick any game in the league. It is highly unlikley that you wouldn’t find a single emotional moment in that particular matchup. By ‘emotional‘ we don’t just mean sentimental. This term encompasses all the impulsive speeches and actions that athletes engage in during heated games. As humans, of course, we are allowed to feel these emotions, but managing them is just as important. Travis Kelce seems to have a bit of difficulty on the field in doing so, and honestly, the nature of the game and the circumstances can push even some calm-looking people over the edge.
He even had some heated interactions with head coach Andy Reid amidst games that fans noticed earlier this year during the events leading up to the 2023 championship. Although Travis denied ‘pushing’ the HC, Reid acknowledged his emotional outbursts respectfully during a CBS interview. “As a player, he has always been very good. Now, he had a temper. So on the field, he would go off and do some crazy things,” Andy confessed in the official interview.

We are not perfect creatures, and we all have some baggage that we can work on. Seems like one of Travis Kelce’s big challenges is to keep himself cool in these heated moments. He appears to be working on them, probably why Eric Stonestreet thinks he is perfect for the most popular woman on planet earth.
As Travis Kelce works on his temper, make sure that you don’t forget to check out the interview we have in store for you where Doug Sanders offers some NFL wisdom on our Think Tank Exclusive.
