How can we not talk about family when family’s all we’ve got? That line’s from Charlie Puth’s song See You Again. Indeed, family is everything. It’s the driving force that keeps you motivated. And it’s the same for Raiders QB Desmond Ridder as well. Ridder kicked off his NFL journey with the Atlanta Falcons as the backup QB in 2022. Mid-season, he took over as the starting QB and continued in that role for the Falcons the following season.

Following a brief history with the Cardinals, he signed with the Raiders in October 2024. Ridder is a complete family man. When he’s not playing football, he spends quality time with his family. The Kentucky native is married to Claire Cornett, a political science graduate who works in sales. Although the couple prefers to keep their personal life out of the public eye, they occasionally share glimpses of their family on Instagram. It’s not clear when they first met or how their relationship began, but reports say they’ve known each other for about eight years now. Ridder and Claire are parents to two kids, a boy and a girl.

Both Ridder and Claire attended the University of Cincinnati. Claire also has roots in Kentucky, just like her husband. She is a full-time mom and works in sales at a company called Max Retail. Married in 2022, the couple welcomed their first baby three months before their wedding. They named their daughter Leighton Elizabeth.

On February 20, 2024, the couple welcomed their second child, a boy they named Khylan Jett. “Khylan Jett • 2/20/2024 • our hearts are overflowing with the addition of our sweet baby boy🤍”, posted Claire on her Instagram. That’s sweet!

Desmond Ridder has big plans for his daughter’s future.

Desmond Ridder has already planned his daughter Leighton’s future. He wants her to follow in his athletic footsteps. The Raiders QB hopes Leighton will get into flag football, which is soon set to become an Olympic sport. Well, Leighton for sure must have got Ridder’s athletic genes. And she also watches her dad play. She’s already picking up some skills. Although Claire prefers to keep her kids out of the spotlight, she’s always in the stands with her kids, cheering for her husband whenever Ridder is playing.

The Ridders really are a sweet, adorable family that steals fans’ hearts every time they’re spotted together. Fans often express their admiration for the QB and his family in the comments on their Instagram posts. The Raiders have struggled this season, sitting at the bottom of the AFC West with a 2-9 record. It’s been a rough year, hopefully, they will come back strong the next season.
