For the Chargers, HC Jim Harbaugh has changed their fortunes. The legendary coach has turned it into a dangerous team, full of talented players like the safety Derwin James. With an 11-6 win-loss record, they were 2nd in the AFC West division and 5th in the conference. It shows they are in expert hands and have a secure future. Just before the wild card game, their safety got a big surprise.
The impact of Harbaugh’s arrival has started showing off before the playoffs begin. On January 10, the Associated Press named James to the AP Second-Team All-Pro. He was cheerful and applauded the head coach saying, “I just feel like we’re working our tail off and having coach mentor leading the way. Coach Harbaugh, wouldn’t rather have no other coaches.” That’s right. The coach has filled the team with the drive to win. It’s great.

Ahead of the playoff opener wildcard game, the Chargers activated cornerback Eli Apple and wide receiver Simi Fehoko. While Apple was dealing with a hamstring injury, Fehoko was on the injured reserve (IR) because of an elbow injury. That’s a positive development for the roster.
Apple joined the Chargers in 2024. Though he hasn’t started in any game, he comes with an experience of 8 seasons. It will come in handy in the crucial playoff stage. On the other hand, Fehoko has been with the team since 2023. In 2024, he has 6 receptions for 106 yards in 8 games (2 starting).
