As Dallas reporter Jon Machota noted, Jerry Jones will not shut down debates involving him and Deion Sanders. The Dallas Cowboys owner is best at stirring the pot and dragging things to the last minute. The ongoing issue of the Cowboys’ head coach position has been making headlines since negotiations with Mike McCarthy broke down. Since then, Deion Sanders has emerged as the front-runner for the position. Deion is currently the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. Thanks to his past with the Cowboys and admiration of Jerry Jones, the rumors have gained momentum. With it, debates have skyrocketed.

Amid the ocean of opinions, Deion Sanders’ close friend Robert Griffin III has taken a strong stand. RGIII is a former quarterback and has played for the Commanders, Browns, and Ravens. In a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, he expressed his stance on the debate. “Are you in or out that the Cowboys’ Deion Sanders’ story is a real story?” the host asked. To which RGIII replied, “I’m in.”

The former NFL quarterback continued, “I’ve talked to Deion, and I knew months ago that the only way he will go to the NFL is if he had an opportunity to coach his sons. And he has been very adamant about that recently. It wasn’t my information to share at the time.” But following this made a very strong point again, as he knows the former NFL star.

RG III added, “I don’t think he’s going to NFL just to be an NFL coach. And he doesn’t wanna chase after his sons. He sets them up to be in a position where they can be highly drafted.” Further, he also talked about how Coach Prime is very careful about his sons and college football stars, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders. It has already been discussed in other NFL teams that if anyone wants to sign Deion Sanders, that franchise likely has to draft his son as well.

The show also discussed rumors about whether the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants were interested in Shedeur or not. On this issue, Robert Griffin III said, “Deion Sanders is very supportive of other coaches and didn’t wanna undercut Antonio Pierce. So, I remember they were at the banquet a few weeks ago and he was like, ‘Hey draft my son, and blah, blah, blah’. Because he wants his son to be in a situation where you know Tom Brady being there and mentoring Shedeur would be great.”

Alright. The most important thing we can derive from this is that Sanders will be back in the NFL. Maybe just the coach, or more likely, him and his son. In respect of Shedeur, things will open up around the NFL draft in April.

All this debate started after a rumored phone call. Reportedly, Jerry Jones has called Deion Sanders for the Cowboys‘ head coaching job. And Mike McCarthy’s high-profile departure added fuel to it. Deion Sanders was asked about this. Coach Prime replied, “To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Prime Time also added, “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body, and the community.” Apart from this, it is not unknown to any Dallas fan how close Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders are.

The NFL reporter also believes that if Jerry Jones has indeed requested Sanders, it would be a surprise if he rejects it. He truly admires the Cowboys owner and GM. Well, let’s wait and watch as things unfold when the offseason adds more colors to the picture.
