Despite a 5-8 record and being at the bottom of the AFC South division, one player from the Tennessee Titans team is set to make millions. Star wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, was smart enough to include various clauses when he signed with the Titans earlier this year. The contract’s duration is 2 years and is valued at $26 million, according to CBS Sports.
The Titans are set to face the 7-6 Houston Texans next week on December 17, before facing them again on New Year’s Eve. Will his records help the Titans win games as well?

DeAndre Hopkins to be richer by $3 million
Easton Freeze took to X to share the updates on how many milestones the wideout has achieved as part of his contract. In total, he has already earned $1 million in incentives. That includes $250,000 each on accomplishing the 750 and 850 passing yards and 4 and 6 receiving touchdowns milestones.
When DeAndre Hopkins signed with the #Titans, his contract included some significant performance incentives that would allow him to make up to $3 million on top of his base salary.
He’s well on his way to reaching many of those benchmarks:

Although with just four games left in the season, it looks difficult that he will earn his full $3 million; the post says that he can earn $1.25 million more. He will get that amount on recording 75 receptions, 1050 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. The last milestones are something that he has accomplished in his entire career.
But on a per-season basis, he last reached at least 95 catches and 1,050 yards in 2020 and recorded 11 touchdowns in 2018. Will he be able to do it this season?

Hopkins’ performance has gotten better with time
The No. 27 overall draft in 2014 has made it to 4 Pro Bowls and 3 All-Pro teams. The wideout had a slow start this season with aging QB Ryan Tannehill, but ever since rookie quarterback Will Levis began starting for the Titans, he has developed a good rapport with him. This season is currently his best since 2020 and has recorded 57 receptions for 898 yards and six touchdowns.

The 31-year-old has gotten older since he left his first team, the Texans, but still ranks as among the best receivers in the league right now. And it doesn’t seem like he has any plans to stop. When asked what is his timeline for retirement was , he simply said that he will retire when he is unable to record 1,000 yards in a season anymore.
